Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I really don't see any of the negatives others have mentioned about this basic tour. Hop on hop off tours are just basic simple ways to see the sites in a area. The Manchester tour covers all this and more for under 15 pounds.

I booked a tour as a way of occupying bored teenagers on a Saturday afternoon.
I've lived in Manchester for 25 years and was curious what such tours offered.

I'll be honest here and say that booking in a rush I didn't read the full web-site so may have missed some warnings, but booked a tour starting mid afternoon, 3.15 at Albert Square. For ease of parking we decided to park in Salford Quays and start out tour there. It is afterall a hop on hop off tour.

The tour for us started ok, through the Quays with scant information over the tannoy. This place is full of history!!!!

Then headed off to Old Trafford past the new hotels etc. How exciting. Old Trafford. Mention of greatness, a nod to City, then past derelict Trafford Park. I can cope with the grot on view, but again this place is full of industrial history. No mention.
We pass the Imperial War Museum with info on the architect and concept (interesting but bit of a fable) then past OT again. No mention of Hotel Football.

Then into town down the "beautiful " Bridgewater Way. No mention of buildings beyond or the canal. Onto Beetham Tower, past the Midland Hotel (key fact:David Beckham dated Posh Spice here -FFS!) then Albert Square for the end of the tour.

We stayed on to complete our tour with a few others, but we're told to disembark as the tours had finished for the day. 4PM!!!! What an international city we are!!

Stranded with our car at Salford Quays we were going to get a tram back, but after complaining to the driver we were offered a lift back, hence the two 2/5.

Basically this is a poor tour, that aims to get punters around a few key sights as quickly as possible.

If you are not from Manchester, I can assure you that you will not experience Manchester from this tour. There is great world changing history here. Genuinely world changing on a huge scale. There are great neighbourhoods, life, parks, people, characters, attitude ..... I could go on.

The half of this tour that I saw gives you nothing of this.

On behalf of the people of Manchester and Salford I can only apologise. Embarrassed!

Yes the ticket lasts 24 hours so I could have continued on Sunday. It wasn't worth another £3 parking fee to continue.

We did the tour in two halves, with a stop off at Salford Quays. The service was punctual, and the audio was very informative (and available on the app too if needed). My only mistake was to book our tickets through an intermediary, when I could have saved money by paying on the bus.

Be careful! I bought this on Groupon, before I realised that it's literally one bus and only runs three times at day (we went in July). Then when we EVENTUALLY found it and got on it, you weren't allowed off... let me explain...

The voucher said to get on at the first stop, and stated this was Town Hall/Albert Square (which their map on their website also states). We went to get on at 10:30am, and no bus. We went to get on at 12pm, and there was no bus Keen to actually get to use the voucher before our other plans that day, we decided to essentially run ahead of the bus at each stop (which don't have signs, btw).

Perhaps I should get in touch with their customer service team for help? Unfortunately, I didn't have a stamp, which is what I'd need because their contact details don't include a number – just an address in Birmingham.

After checking their Facebook (good job I have an account), it turned out they've changed their first stop temporarily. We went to the art gallery staff, who helped us find the stop and catch the last/only other remaining ride (2pm). As it was the last one (there's only three in the day and only one bus remember), we weren't allowed to get off so had to just sit on it for 1 hour 20 mins.

Even with the discount (came to £18 for two people) this was a rip off and ended up wasting a large chunk of time on our short trip. Manchesters the best though!!!

We bought a ticket that lasted 48 h the whole time we were in Manchester. As it was off season the tickets were £10 each well worth it as it's an excellent way to see the key areas and learn your way around the city. Recommend this for anyone visiting Manchester.

We decided to go to Manchester for 2 nights as a surprise for my son's birthday and as we have been on other tour buses around cities, we enjoy them and get to see everything we want. We got to bus stop with 20 minutes to spare and no bus turned up, we waited another 30 minutes and still no bus. We text for an updated timetable just incase and no reply. There was no number to contact them either. A few other family's who were also waiting not just us. We bought our ticket through Groupon as we have done many times and never an issue. We had 2 disappointed children. We ended up paying extra for the normal bus that for £10 family of 4 was very good value for money and went almost everywhere we wanted, but we waisted lots of the waiting around so missed a few things. Such a shame for a big city that they only have a unreliable tour bus company.

Bought 2 tickets online but bus never came. Messaged the business on Facebook but no reply. This business may not exist. There is a free for bus provided by the city metro, take that instead.

The tour was informative and fun. I got to see a lot of interesting sights around Manchester. I went on the tour from 2 pm - 3.30 pm and the bus was full though. Maybe it would have been better to do this tour in the morning.

Excellent hop on tour bus. Got a discount as booked through Groupon. lasted 90 mins. Excellent route, went into SAlford Quays, which we later drove to. Its not ear phones but the commentary comes out of speakers at back of seats. Sat at the top in the sunshine. Really enjoyed it.

I have just spent a few days in Manchester city centre with a friend. We visit many places together. We arrived on Sunday 25 June 2017 & on Monday we got up early & headed off to Albert Square with enthusiasm to board the Manchester sightseeing bus to orienteer ourselves . We would then hop off & on depending where we chose to visit.the bus arrived but the obnoxious driver would not let me on as I'm a wheelchair user! He said he didn't k now if there was a ramp or not. I felt so humiliated. We were also disappointed. All the different buses, trams & electric buses are all accessible so why not the tour bus.
