Excellent acoustics

Have been to this venue a few times for classical music concerts and music competitions. Unhindered view of the raised stage and excellent acoustics. I have sat behind the orchestra in the gallery and this gives a different experience, you get a new insight by watching the conductor as the players see him/her.

New venue and cracking Northern Chamber Orchestra performance
Jan 2020 • Couples
Firsts time at this wonderfully acoustic venue. It's a beautiful performance Hall but has a surprisingly austere outside which to be honest doesn't catch your eye or even look that welcoming! There is a stupendous atrium inside, a small but perfectly formed bar which will do pre ordered interval drinks, which opens an hour before each performance. Not a bad place for meeting up with friends beforehand and a surprising space. The Carole Nash hall opens out from here.
Downstairs is the Stoller Hall, a pretty plain but absolutely fantastic performance hall. We listened to the two halves of the programme and came to listen to the Marimba, a substantial piece of percussion, which was played by a hugely talented musician. There is gorgeous acoustics and the wood wall panelling makes the most perfect environment. If the stairs down are not easy for you, there is a lift.
I have to confess that the second half was the more musical for me, and Delius and Dvorak are both good listens especially on a Friday night. As a new venue, it's obviously got some way to go, to get people familiar with it, but it must be a major advantage to be so close to Victoria station, the Tram system and the centre of Manchester. You couldn't ask for more!

Less well known but an interesting Manchester Collective program
Nov 2019
We went to a concert expecting the main Hall but the event had been moved to the smaller Carol Nash Hall. This was a smaller intimate venue but worked well arranged as a concert in the round with musicians in the centre. My one concern, which may be unjustified, was the access for those in wheelchairs or unsteady on their feet as you have to go down stairs to get to it. Would be worth checking in advance if this is an issue for you. If you like music from the left field check out the Collective's programme - they are resident artists here and all their concerts I've attended have been slightly novel in some way but v rewarding. even my wife, who was extremely sceptical was won over by their Vivaldi. Bach & Ligeti mash up

This is the concert venue of Cheetham’s School of Music. Modern concert hall with eclectic performances. Nice foyer and small bar.

Stoller Hall: Carole Nash Hall - MESMERIC free lunch time concerts!
Sep 2019
OMG OMG OMG - Do not miss this. It’s the most amazing experience it really is! Free lunch time concerts commencing at 1.30 pm usually. The one I attended was not in the large beautiful Stoller Hall but in the smaller but still beautiful Carole Nash Hall downstairs, in the Chetham School of Music. I was transported, and it was truly magical to listen to the various pieces by the students (on this occasion it was the BBC Young Musician of the Year Entrants). Oh it was so lovely I’m beyond more words.......Please visit.......

A Flexible, Medium Sized Modern Concert Hall
Jul 2019 • Couples
The Stoller Hall was opened two years ago, and is very conveniently place close to the centre of the City and next to Victoria station with its tram and rail links. We attended an event which was part of the International Festival. The fact that seating was unreserved caused a few problems as this resulted in many arriving early to try to obtain a better seat and whilst the area outside the Hall is spacious it became rather overcrowded. However, I guess with non Festival events numbered tickets are issued negating the difficulty. Nevertheless, a very interesting evening.

Woman to woman concert
Nov 2018 • Friends
What an absolutely lovely place. I’d never heard of it before so it was a nice surprise. It was just the right size to enjoy the concert that we saw not like the big arenas where you never get to see the people you’ve paid to see.The staff were very smiley which was very nice😀
The concert itself was excellent and we throughly enjoyed our night, will definitely be coming back now we’ve found this little jewel!

Woman to Woman concert

Excellent venue and acoustics. Lovely clean and modern with refreshment area. No drinks in auditorium which is fine. Seats spacious. Waiting around on stairs before doors open to be seated which could be improved. Concert brilliant and would look to go again for sure.
