- Cassie HardmanHindley, United Kingdom7 contributionsOk but probably won't go again!Went last night for my husband's birthday, was seated at Table 5 with our backs to the stage (the seating plan is shocking) asked if it was possible to move but the place was full! The comedians were good, Had a couple of laughs..The thing that spoilt the night was the women on the table to the left of us spat beer all over the back of my husband and I, she took a drink of her beer and then coincidentally laughed at the same time!! This was about 5 mins into the first act so spent the rest of the night wet!! The food is good, the atmosphere from the crowd is fab and the staff were very attentive! Probably won't visit again but it's each to their own...Visited March 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 11 March 2023
- Chris HManchester, United Kingdom27 contributionsAre you sitting comfortablyWent on a sold out Saturday night. Comics decent, drinks service prompt. Cramped and uncomfortable seating upstairs - they really jam people, to the point where I could only see the stage via a video screen. Disappointing.Visited August 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 6 August 2023

Firstly, I have to say the venue is great. Having read a few reviews saying it was basic I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and the venue itself. Obviously any such evening is always going to be about the actual acts on any given night - we enjoyed some acts more than others when we visited but altogether it was an enjoyable evening. So, why three stars? We booked the ticket & pizza/burger deal. As requested we gave our food choice in advance of the evening. Then, as we were shown to our table at 19:00hrs our food request was confirmed and we were told the kitchen would get on it straightaway. We requested two x French fries - as these were above & beyond the ticket offer we paid immediately and asked for them to come with the three pizzas and one burger we had ordered. Five minutes later the chips arrived! We said we wanted them with the main food, as we were told they would get the food straightaway we kept the chips and started to eat them. These soon were devoured with no sign of the food we had ordered via email three days prior. We were hoping to have eaten by the time the “show” started at 20:00hrs……..however, at 20:15hrs and no food arriving I approached a member of staff, I was told “what do you want me to do about it, the kitchen is busy”. Reluctantly giving this ignorant guy the benefit of the doubt I returned to my table. Finally the food arrives at 20:25hrs - the pizzas were very good but the burger was cold. A member of staff came to our table and was very apologetic and offered us a round of drinks on ‘the house”. She did say any food would be reheated - literally as my wife bit into a cold burger. Seriously, it was as if she knew some of the food would be cold. The burger was returned to the kitchen, then brought back to the table. It was obvious the bun had been re-toasted but no effort to actually heat the meat or chips. This was not eaten and left pretty much untouched! I very much appreciated the time taken to apologise and the free drinks, however, as this was my treat for a very special friends 60th birthday the evening was spoilt and will be remembered for the kitchen issues rather than the overall evenings entertainment.

Went to the Sat afternoon show. Usual friendly welcome at the door, efficiently checked in with our surname booking and given instructions how to order drinks and food via the QR code on the table.
Cool, quirky and a bit creaky environment, especially the floorboards upstairs, this all adds to the character and uniqueness of the venue. We always sit upstairs to avoid the risk of being singled out by the compère,there are screens upstairs just in case you get a seat that has poor visibility of the stage.3 comedians, all different from one another,to cover the likes of the audience.Youngest audience member was 19 and oldest 75ish,if you haven’t tried it(and you don’t mind swearing)you must come here and try it.

We went as two couples on a Friday night. Everything was brilliant! The MC was really funny and set up a great vibe for the evening. The service from staff was really friendly and super efficient! Highly recommend, and would go again given the chance.

Gig was good but have policy of short interval time whilst bar staff try to keep people queuing for as long as possible by maximum faffing

I've only left a 1 star rating because there wasnt a 0 option, vile arrogant and rude doorstaff,in the space of 20 mins we where told to shut up twice,a hen night ruined after been called cheap and a member of our party left in tears due to bullying men, management seriously need to rethink the company they employ to manage there floors,no laughs in this "comedy" lounge!

Not allowed to laugh at the acts … bit weird ruined vibe by bar staff who don’t take orders and make you scan a qr code in a venue with no signal and won’t take your drink - over priced, staff annoying and not relaxed - not what I expected how disappointing - sort it out

I visited the Frog and Bucket 14/08/23 for the Beat the Frog Night with my partner and friends.
The Frog and Bucket is situated on the edge of the Northern Quarter of Manchester, possibly the best comedy club in town. We went to watch Beat the Frog.
We where situated upstairs at this sold out venue and our view of the stage was not compromised. The entertainment was fantastic, the host was hilarious, got everyone in the mood for a great night's entertainment.
Ten acts were given a 5 minute spot, some chosen members of the audience were given large frog cards which they held up if they didn't like the act. (Luckily our group got one)
Great Service, affordable and can’t wait to try a different night.

Hi - you cannot book a specific table as far as i am aware, unless you maybe call them up. Depending size of party you may have to share a table. hope this helps

Does anyone know what The Frog is like for the New Years Eve party? I'm thinking about Booking tickets if there are any available but am interested to hear people's opinions.
Thanks in advance,
