If you have never been here, you must try it
Went to the Sat afternoon show. Usual friendly welcome at the door, efficiently checked in with our surname booking and given instructions how to order drinks and food via the QR code on the table. Cool, quirky and a bit creaky environment, especially the floorboards upstairs, this all adds to the character and uniqueness of the venue. We always sit upstairs to avoid the risk of being singled out by the compère,there are screens upstairs just in case you get a seat that has poor visibility of the stage.3 comedians, all different from one another,to cover the likes of the audience.Youngest audience member was 19 and oldest 75ish,if you haven’t tried it(and you don’t mind swearing)you must come here and try it.

    A very enjoyable evening.
I visited the club with my daughters & we thoroughly enjoyed the 3 different comedians, & the wonderful compere. A very enjoyable evening with lots of laughter & a wonderful atmosphere. The food isn't bad either, but if it's full you'll have to wait a while.

Made me laugh but I did go hungry
Attended a Roast Battle Night. Comedy was great, made me laugh which was the point. Downside was the food. Can’t comment on what it was like as it never arrived. Placed an order for pizza at 7:36pm, tables all around me were getting their food, got to around 9pm and I was like where on earth is our food. Talked to staff who went and got another member of staff to speak to me, she asked “What’s the problem?”. Errrr like my food hasn’t arrived. Her response was “We’re busy!”. Gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited a bit longer, by the 2nd break still no food and it was 10pm. Spoke to another member of staff and said its been 2 and half hours and no food. Was again given response of “We’re busy tonight”. Asked for a refund which was given thankfully. If they can’t cater for the audience then they need to stop with the food and just stick to the comedy. Worth going for the comedy acts but don’t bother ordering food you won’t get any!

    Great venue
We came to see Paul Taylor and really loved the venue. We arrived about 20 minutes before the show and managed to get a great seat on the second row to the side of the stage by the bar. It filled up quickly and was unreserved seating, so just as well we came when we did. The tables upstairs on the mezzanine/balcony looked great too, and would be perfect if you ordered food. We’d definitely return for their regular comedy night as our friends have said this is also good.

NICE VENUE BUT VERY EXPENSIVE DRINKS
Friendly staff and good seating layout. Show was ok. Drink Prices extortionate! £20 for two drinks, the same drinks that cost around £12 everywhere else we bought them from. No food being served so can’t comment on that. Wouldn’t return just because of the drink prices which is a shame really but felt like I was being ripped off

    Shoot from the hip.
Great little venue. Never been before. Near ‘northern quarter car park’ Saw ‘Shoot from the hip’ last night. Really good show. It’s good that the stage is raised so the show can be seen better. The toilets could do with an update and allocated seats would be good.

    Rim you without a spoon
Went on Monday 16th September, been to a few of the pro nights before but beat the frog was absolutely hilarious last night, compère was hilarious and some of the acts were fantastic. Drinks were brought over promptly and door staff were friendly and on the ball, great night all round. First time my partner has ever smiled when I’ve said I’m gonna rim her, so a successful night too in the eyes of progress. Would happily come again.

Came on Saturday 29th Feb and it was really, really funny. There were three comedians and an MC leading the night - all hilarious in their own unique styles! After the show they also whack the tunes on and have a little disco. The venue is very cramped however so getting drinks at each interval is a bit of a lengthy and awkward process as you queue for ages and it’s a squeeze getting them back to your table.

First time here, when visiting Manchester, we usually go 4to the Comedy Store at Deansgate. Thought we'd give The Frog and Bucket a go for a change. The MC Danny McLoughlan and Tom Wrigglesworth were brilliant. The 2 random Canadian 'comedians' were awful. Also one of the security staff was a bit overbearing. My husband was trying to focus a picture and he came up and abruptly told him to stop filming. Not the least bit friendly when trying to chat with him in passing. I had to sit all night with my coat on, as the place was freezing cold. Found prices a bit expensive for a pizza in a takeaway type box and a basket of overcooked, cold skinny fries. Thinking next time we are in the area, we will go back to The Comedy Store, which cost much the same, and food served on a plate

The 8pm show was full so I booked the overflow show expecting it to be at 11pm, but no it was on at 4.30! Who goes to comedy at 4.30 in the afternoon....?

A lot of people as it turned out, it was full. Mixed as ever, hen nights, a gay hen night (booked by the straight mate apparently) couples, families, you get the gist.

And the crowd were all up for a good night, sorry afternoon. It reminded me of the casinos in Las Vegas you never know what time it is as there's no windows, so actually you soon forget how early it is.

It started bang on time, which threw me, but the 6 o'clock finish seemed to arrive very quickly. Bouncers were a bit sharp asking us to leave. At least give us 5 minutes to take in the fact it's over and finish our drinks.

The table service worked really well, the app makes it a lot easier (although it wouldn't let me leave a tip for staff so you may want to look at that)

It was good to be back.

Great evening at the Frog first time at Beat the Frog which is a Gong show for first time comedians, I was surprised how busy it was for a Monday night. The Compere (Harriet Dyer I think she was new?) Steered the evening well with plenty of heart so it didn't get too nasty or out of hand, I think everyone had a good time (audience and first time comedians). The winner Adam Flood was particularly good and I am going to be looking out for him in the future. All in all an excellent evening

Me and my partner booked tickets on the website for Friday 14th, which was easy enough. We were given a table upstairs but that didn't bother us. The comedians always make sure they give eye contact and engage with those sat upstairs.
There were three acts and the amazing compere Jonathon. I've seen Jonathon before at Frog and Bucket in Preston. He never fails to get the audience laughing (and gasping when the jokes a bit riskee)
All three comedians were bob on however our favourite was Dan Nightingale. He almost made it look effortless. His time went very fast.
Would definitely come back to F&B. Great evening, thanks ♥️

Attended with 3 friends, comedy acts were bad enough but bouncers and staff were even worse and subsequently completely ruined the evening. We were speaking to the waiter to order our drinks and then the bouncer came over and told us to be quiet or we would get thrown out. People go out to enjoy their evening and relax, not to be harassed and threatened by over controlling bouncers and staff. We ended up leaving at the break. Another large party on the balcony were also asked to leave, even though they were just chatting quietly amongst each other about the acts and not disrupting the show.

This venue needs to focus on improving the calibre of
comedians (an addition of some actual funny ones would help) and then people in attendance might not be as bored and not feel the need to chat to their friends.

On the plus side, if you’re attending on your own and want to sit in silence and want to be bored to death, this would be a perfect night out for you.

I’m sadly disappointed with my evening, they need a referee to give out yellow or red cards . I was with my 10 work colleagues 80 percent of them over the age of 40 , and all very respectful caring people who had come together for a great evening of comedy . We was on two tables . I was on the good table not the naughty table , I was observing the drinks being brought over that at a cost of £65 around being paid for by our boss, when all of a sudden the poor nervous waitress spilt a drink over a colleague of mine, I only saw his mouth move twice so his reaction was in my eyes understandable. The next thing he was tapped on the shoulder by a door staff member and taken outside and asked to leave, it was all blown up over nothing. Then with him being outside we all decided to join him , much to my disappointment , because before that I had only seen one comedian mick ferry who was 80 percent on his game , we all have of days , but I am a fan . I think they need to install a VAR system so they can review the decisions they make , because it was even yellow let alone a red card . Other than that I had a good hour there before our walk of shame . If you was a prefect at school you should be ok and get to spend a good night there . Fingers on lips now .

Went with a few friends on a Friday night, compere was very entertaining and funny, 3 "comedians" got steadily worse as the night wore on, every act on stage was very sensitive to noise from within the venue tho, we were constantly asked to "shhh" by all of them, I thought audience participation was all part of the fun... anyway to top it off, their food and drinks ordering system went down part way through the evening and this was the cherry on the cake, the staff then got angry with people who were trying to order directly with them - as they'd been instructed to do. First time I've been there - Never again.

If you want to talk to your friends they provide up to two breaks a night.

Otherwise it’s best just to sit back and listen to the comics telling their jokes. You know. Like everyone else in the room paid for.

I had a brilliant night with my friends.

Only spoiled by a table of rude people who just wanted to talk to each other all night. The staff handled them very well but I’m amazed how self absorbed and ignorant some people can be.

Brilliant night out otherwise. Highly recommend. Jaw hurt from laughing afterwards.

We arranged our Christmas Party at the venue as been last few previous years and always been a good night.

I booked for 24 people and agreed Halal meals for 7 people. Once arriving on the evening there was no halal meals available, the venue tried to just give us vegetarian meals without any explanation, this obviously wasn't an option so these people left, I was told and promised that evening a full refund would be made.

After chasing numerous times myself it was argued and they didn't want to give me a refund at all they then refunded an extremely small amount and I am out of pocket for 6 tickets at £45 each. Once we said there was no halal they either left or didn't even turn up.
The food we did get was of a low standard and the show itself was again a disappointment, the evening was just a terrible experience and night out.
We have been emailing the managers the venue and just being ignored. We are now in February and not had any satisfactory responses. To just be ignored at least 5 times is unacceptable by any business regardless.

SHOCKING customer service, will never go to this venue again!
