Very nice architecture. When we were there, organ was just reconstructed. You can light the candle if you want.

I am glad I visited this cathedral. When I first saw it, my thinking was, its a bit small, very small compared to some of the other cathedrals I've seen. Having got in there though, it made sense. Its essentially a parish church, for the parish in which it was sitting when it was built. There is information available inside... More

This 'Cathedral' on the north-west side of Manchester city centre is pretty small. It's still nice to walk around, since as a cathedral it does have a few more bits to its interior than churches generally do. When visiting it in 2016 the central organ was still under restoration, and the scaffolding does affect the feel of the place. I'm... More

As the cathedral of Manchester I was expecting something bigger but that's not to say it's an ugly building. Far from it! I really enjoyed the building from the inside and out. At the moment there is some restoration work going on but I would recommend stepping inside.

This is the centre of Christianity in Manchester. It is a beautiful cathedral, worth visiting. It's a bit small comparing to the size of the city, but it's still a beautiful landmark.

From the outside, the building looks like many other provincial cathedrals - a large parish church promoted beyond its means. However from the inside it's clear that this is a substantial building. When we visited, the organ was in the last stages of being replaced with brand new beast that sits above the screen. As a result there was much... More

Unfortunately the cathedral was under some scaffolding, and various areas were cordoned off as they come to the end of a ten year long major restoration. They were finishing the restoration and installation of the new organ. However, there is .still a lot to see. The windows are fabulous, and I was intrigued by the boards listing the notable mayors,... More
