Manchester Arena, managed and operated by SMG Europe, is one of the busiest venues in the world and the largest indoor arena in Europe.

Since opening in 1995, the Arena has hosted the biggest names in live entertainment including U2, The Rolling Stones, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Pavarotti and the record-breaking 2010/2011 residency by local comedian Peter Kay.

In addition to live music, we've also staged some of the biggest events in the UK sporting calendar including several 2002 Commonwealth Games' events, the 2012 Olympic basketball warm-up match between team USA and GB, the 2008 FINA World Swimming Championships and international boxing bouts by Mike Tyson, David Haye, Joe Calzaghe and local champions Ricky Hatton and Amir Khan.

We've also played a key part in Manchester's rich musical heritage with historic shows by local bands Take That, Oasis, Elbow, New Order, James, Happy Mondays, The Charlatans, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, M People, Doves, The Inspiral Carpets, The Verve, Simply Red and The Courteeners.

Attracting over one million visitors each year, the 21,000 capacity Arena is a former winner of the industry's prestigious International Venue of the Year award.

Stopped in hotel 5 minutes walk from arena, easy to access and exit, good venue, view from seats good, legroom for tall people average/poor, only wish we had seen a better "gig" than impractical jokers!

Used to come here for some of the band acts. Expensive but I guess that's similar in venues of this size. Came for the boxing, but my overall experience is that people kept on chucking their cups of alcohol. Loutish behaviour but to be expected at a fight I suppose. Poor Stewards seemed to be unsupported as well. And only... More

Seats were rather uncomfortable and there isn't much leg room, constantly having to stand up to let people in or out of the row instead of just shifting to one side of my seat was rather annoying. Some of the staff were a bit unnecessarily rude when directing people out of the building afterwards (shouting and screaming at people isn't... More

One of the best venues for live music, we are so lucky to have this in Manchester. Visited to see one of my favourite bands who we have seen many times before at this venue and wasn't disappointed. Quick service at the bars, really clean and excellent transport.

Prosecco could be bought by the bottle but would have to be emptied into individual plastic lager cups - very odd. Unclean toilets throughout. Cold hot dogs - which was ironic. Sick wasn't cordoned off and saw several slip through it. Staff seemed too rushed, unhappy, Inc front of house, security and merchandise. Concert was OK. Overall disappointed

Brilliant gig from Ellie and John Newman. Standard arena prices for food, drink and merchandise. Close to train station and a couple of hotels. Sound was great and the seats we had were good.

We travel across the UK to attend music concerts and recently saw The 1975 here however have been to various other events over the last few years at this venue including Noel Gallagher, Calvin Harris, Florence and the Machine, John Bishop etc. The MEN is not our preferred venue as we find the Liverpool Echo much better in terms of... Though this is no longer my favourite arena (prefer Leeds for size, seating etc) Manchester Arena is easy to travel to and park. It has the best sound system of any arena I have been to. The 1975 had an excellent stage set up which looked, and sounded great. We were in the lower tier with a great view of... More

Overall a good arena, staff were helpful. Very congested when wanting to leave for toilet or drink, resulting into chaos mayne there should be a system for this. Usual arena rip off prices for drinks etc. Decent night watching my favourite band!
