This very small theatre is I am sure quite unique with its circular construction with 3 tiers, stage level and 2 more. Be careful the front rows at stage level are very low bench type seats. We sat on row D at stage level good comfy seats, good veiw. Reasonably priced refreshments.

Lovely modern circular theatre in fantastic old building. We always try to get the banquette tickets which are only available on the day of performance. The seats can feel a bit hard after a while. Stage is in the round and banquettes at stage level. Always a very good production and very effective stage set.

This was our first visit to Royal Exchange Theatre and were pleasantly surprised. We saw Sweet Charity at the end of January and it was a wonderful production which we thoroughly enjoyed. The theatre itself is very modern and unusual as it is round a central stage which is on ground level and there are three levels all around it.

What an amazing production it was Bold, brassy and brilliantly conceived, Derek Bond’s revival of SWEET CHARITY breathes new life into Neil Simon’s bittersweet story. Instead of focusing on the women as victims, Bond’s dynamic production focuses on the humour of the piece, squeezing every last inch of comedy out of the script and adding a new dimension to the... An excellent venue where the theatre is built inside a classical building. The design is well structured. The auditorium itself is rare as it is theatre in the round with three audience levels.

Unfortunately we didn't have time to see a show, but we did look inside this very interesting and beautiful building. The décor of the foyer is superb, and the staff were all very helpful and answered our questions. Maybe one day we shall have the opportunity to attend a performance.

Saw Sweet Charity this afternoon. What an absolute treat it was! All the cast were wonderful with their singing and dancing. This was the best production we have seen at the Royal Exchange and we've been going for forty years. The musicians were outstanding as well. Highly recommended!!
