What can I say. I've never seen a theatre like it. It's a theatre in the round and the rest of the building is used as backstage throughout the duration of a performance. I went... read more

I'm used to seeing theatre shows.....this venue doesn't disappoint. £4 for a bottle of coke and the smallest packet of beef kettle chips. Seems a tad steep don't you think? No offer of a glass with ice and a slice. We wanted a filter coffee during the interval. The stressed out x2 staff members gave a blunt answer - 'the... More

What can I say. I've never seen a theatre like it. It's a theatre in the round and the rest of the building is used as backstage throughout the duration of a performance. I went here on work experience last week and I can honestly say it was one of the best experiences I've ever had. All the staff are... More

I was in the show "Sweet Charity" and must say that it is the best play I have seen so far. The theater itself is quite small, which I however found quite beautiful. The actors have used the entire space and every viewer gets to see everything. In the morning when the theatre opens, you have got the opportunity to... More

I bought three tickets on the morning of the show. They are on sale from 10am and still only cost £10 each (as they have since 2006 - surely one of the bargains of the decade!) You sit on the front row, although the benches are very low. The view is perfect. The entire cast of this production, as well... More

This is an outstanding production, tight as a drum with everyone supporting the whole. A truly amazing first night, best thing I have seen since Around The World in Eighty Days at the Exchange.

Great entertainment. The performance of the song 'the rhythm of life' was so good I wish it had been reprised later in the show.

One if the most splendid buildings in the city. Nice and small theatre which is a great space that enjoy smaller plays. Others than that is a great place to have a drink or a coffee or just walk through..Lots of history

Remarkable performance! If you haven't been make it a priority. Stunning little theatre and good cafe bar. Just loved it.

The theater is in a pretty square and is a beautiful building from the outside and inside. They had a photo exhibition and some snacks to browse through while we waited for our play - the play itself was in its somewhat spaceship-shaped hall right in the center of the hall. Really nice staff, free cloakroom! Would definitely recommend catching... More

Great show. Creative use of the Royal Exchange's small space. The cast were fantastic. Only downside - I'm 6' and struggled with legroom. I may not have chosen the best seats but worth calling or popping in to the box office to get advice if you're tall. Highly recommended
