Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It’s a lovely area and full of atmosphere. All enhanced by the pleasantly warm and blue sky sunshine.
Historic buildings including fine dining choices are wonderfully conserved. Black and white timber framed frontages are gorgeous.

The Shambles is a area of just a few bars and buildings with old style buildings that resemble Chester and parts of France

Went to this venue on Saturday 4th July and there was no track and trace details asked for and we could only pay by cash. What a disappointment that this place can’t follow simple rules.

A friend and I decided to visit the Shambles on our first trip to Manchester. It's a beautiful little area with stunning historic buildings. We visited on a Saturday night and the place was buzzing with people. A really great atmosphere. Highly recommend a visit

We love old things and this area is a joy among the new. We enjoyed a lovely substantial roast at the pub which was built in tudor times.

This small area has been popular with locals for more than sixty years. It has now been developed into a smart trendy tourist attraction and is even more attractive now. The drinks are cheap, the customers on the whole seem to be a better class of people than in some other pubs (polite and well-mannered, and no hooligans). Its worth a visit just to see the buildings and the outside seating on a sunny day makes for a pleasant and memorable experience. Not to be missed.

If you arrive in Manchester at Victoria station it likely you will pass close to the Shambles area as you head towards Deansgate and the main shopping areas. The square gets very busy as the two pubs sharing the square burg have outside drinking areas. The shambles pub is a feat of heritage preservation as it was lifted from around 200 years a away and repositioned to enable a development in the 80s

Always visit this historic pub when in Manchester and have always loved it but its not as good now. On our recent visit it was dog rough, the staff were scruffy and rough and not good at their jobs wanted to talk among themselves and whispering to each other all the time instead of looking after the customers.
