Have seen local drag queens, Jinkx Monsoon, Alan Cummings, and many various artists here. Lovely venue, good drinks sales; all round nice place to have a drink or watch a show - queer or otherwise.

The first incarnation opened during my first year as a student here and although I was not studying drama or any performance arts many of my close friends did or the adjacent fine art department. I had previously only had limited experience of contemporary plays or modern dance and it was a stimulating evolution. It was impressive and refreshing to come back here early this summer and even adsorbed by a production by and for youths and the community. Great too that there is a substantial development in hand funded by both arts council and some substantial and modest private trusts and donors. Good luck to all of them.

We enjoyed a wonderful evening of hip-hop dance at Contact tonight, as part of the Manchester International Festival. It was remarkable work, and we were so impressed that it was put together in a matter of days, by a visiting hip hop choreographer from USA. The dances were reflections of moving poems and spoken word prose, and it all blended together with a rare energy. Great talent on that stage. And the dancers were young local people, clearly having a wonderful time, while also being true to the serious thoughts and themes in the performance. Well done Manchester, you have stolen our hearts again! The standing ovation was greatly deserved I think. Well done also to the Contact Theatre, who have consistently reflected the community and preserved that unique Manchester vibe - ever changing, but always exciting.

It was my first time here yesterday and I can already tell you this venue occupies the pole position in my list of best venues in Manchester. Everything about it was just great. The staff was really nice and welcoming, the foyer is spacious and quite a nice spot for little exhibitions or shows. The bar is really spacious and cozy and although I didn't have nothing to eat I had a feedback from a very good friend of mine saying not only the food is very good (especially the soups, according to her) it is also quite affordable. The show I attended was on space 1 and I have to say I loved it. Nice size, comfortable chairs, good stage, great sound. I really loved my first experience at this theatre and I will most definitely come back. Congratulations to everybody involved in this project.

My friends and I went here for a poetry evening but found parking difficult. Being ten minutes late, we felt it fair enough not to be allowed in the theatre, as the event had already begun. So we went to the lounge and were served with hospitality and opted for special offer drinks. We were allowed in the theatre after the interval for the second poet's performance which was a good experience. However, the lady in charge said we MUST sit in the middle seats because sitting at the sides was a fire hazard!!!!! Yet shortly after, attendees were being guided to these unreserved seats. This lady stated she would lose her job if she didn't follow the rules. More than my job's worth madam. Same rules must apply for everyone.
