Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Called in for a couple of beers no food. Nice traditional pub, staff friendly as were other customers in the pub. Typical city center prices for beer which was good.If you like a proper old fashined pub you will probebly like this place.

This isn’t a pub we visit very often but, when we do, we always have a great time. It is well located just behind the Wetherspoons and can get very busy.

This isn’t a problem though as it just adds to the atmosphere which is laid-back and relaxed. Despite the amount of people you still get served quickly and they have a fantastic range of beers at reasonable prices.

The pub itself is very snug and this is especially good in the winter when it is very cosy indeed.

This pub is a gem. Good location good ale good price. Nice staff amazingly good pickled eggs. Good for a lunch time beer or an after work few. Ales change every few days. Not for tinned ale drinking hipsters mind this is a proper pub not a photo a place to take photos and pretend ur an influancer as your not.

This is a regular haunt of ours and it never lets you down. This latest visit was a few of us after the football and it was as good as usual.

The pub itself is cosy and full of character – you notice something new every time you go in. On this occasion however it was a sunny late afternoon so we had our drinks outside. This again is a great area as you can enjoy the fresh air whilst watching what’s going on around you on the streets of Manchester.

They do offer a really good range of drinks at reasonable prices. The beer is well-kept, the staff friendly and it is well worth a visit.

Love The Vine, love the beer, been MANY times. But the current staff? Two barmaids working the post office work shift on a Thursday - seemed to have a chip on their shoulder about something. Not only miserable but rude - need to get out of hospitality if all they can offer is this. Not surprisingly, visited town again a few days later, with a group of 10 and advised we went next door to The City Arms instead. I won't boycott for long, might leave it until the autumn and see if these two have moved on but when all you hear is pubs closing, you'd think the landlords would be employing better staff for a start.

It’s very difficult running a busy pub over multiple levels, especially during these early days after lockdown and the overnight restrictions reintroduced in Manchester this week. Michelle has the skill and character to make it look effortless. She accommodated our group in the cellar area on Saturday, essentially giving us a private area where we could have birthday drinks in socially distanced groups. Michelle was awemazing and her team of gorgeous colleagues made our night, thank you!

Proper old fashioned little boozer serving the most fantastic Timothy Taylor Landlord, beautifully kept, clear, clean and hoppy as it should be - so much so we probably stayed too long and had too many! Helpful bar staff, lots of regulars, really good traditional pub. Extremely well priced considering central location too.

The vine isn’t a pub I visit often but I have been many times over the last 20 years! It’s a cosy traditional pub and I don’t think prices are too bad for Manchester. Very friendly staff and good atmosphere. Toilets need a refurb but what traditional pub toilets don’t?!

A friend and I called in here late on a Sunday afternoon and had a great time. We were going to go into the Wetherspoons but instead went around the back to this place and we’re pleased with that decision.

It is a friendly pub with a great atmosphere. There are lots of nooks and crannies to enjoy your drinks giving it a private and relaxed feeling.

They do some great beers you don’t see everywhere else and they are well kept. Prices are really good for the city centre and it is definitely worth a visit.

Popped into the Vine for a late lunchtime drink and food last Friday with my wife and daughter. Lovely cosy pub, great selection of beers and great food. I had the Philly cheese steak sandwich and chip buttie with gravy which were both delicious. Most importantly the staff were lovely. We would not hesitate to return on our next visit to Manchester and my daughter, who works nearby will definitely return.
