The overhaul of the library's interior, especially the staircase and dome, has resulted in a public facility that Mancunians should be proud of. Worth checking out the permanent and temporary exhibitions as well.

A beautiful building restored to an amazing place. Welcoming staff. Easy access and great layout. A lovely place to browse but fully equipped with latest technology.

We visited the library as we always wondered what the inside looked lik. It was lovely, something for everyone - coffee bar with a socializing area, academics, history from different parts of the world, or just casual fictional reading. The library is also really interesting to just walk around and observe the architecture.

Did not have my flight ticket and need to have print it. In no time with no fuss and a lot of help I have done it in library. Many thanks. I have saved a lot of money

This is a great place to visit when you have had enough of shopping especially in the Christmas rush. You can relax with a cake and coffee in the coffee shop and then browse to your heart's content. The toilets are good too

So as a tourist you would think, why would I go to the local library? You just have to walk in and see for yourself. The whole thing is a marvel it self. Modern and meets classic. They've maintained the architecture, cleaned it up, spruced it up and given a modern futurist twist. The place is like a labyrinth. On... More

Some 50 years ago I spent many many hours in this library whilst studying for my professional examinations and was impressed by it's grandeur and facilities. At some time radial shelving was installed in the great hall and this greatly diminished the feel and ambience of that great room. The whole building has been totally revamped during several years of... More

Not as striking as the John Ryland library but still worth a visit. Set over several floors with what must be millions of books you can while away a few hours here. The music department was interesting with several instruments available for you to try.

We visited the exhibition of photos of Liam and Noel Gallagher - very well set out and interesting. No charge to go in but any donations can be gift aided which is great,

I really like the design of this library- it's good to look at. We also popped inside and it's also interesting in there. Certainly worth a visit when in Manchester city centre.
