We always have a few drinks here when visiting Manchester. Service is good, an eclectic mix of clientele and a relaxed atmosphere. It appears to be a hub for crossdressing older men so sometimes you find yourself staring when you shouldn't!!

Now re-named as 'The Goose' I often meet friends here to socialise, either staying there or before going somewhere else, good to stop off on the way back from another view or a Safe Haven to escape the throng, very friendly atmosphere!

We were wondering canal street looking for somewhere to have our weekly Sunday dinner! After walking out of two other restaurants we stumbled across this little pub. I was apprehensive at first but I was so pleasantly surprised! The food was just like your grandmother would cook but better. Tasty affordable, very polite and customer orientated staff! Will defiantly be... More

I used to drink here as a student in the 1970s when the pub had sewing machines as tables, and on a few occasions since. I paid a visit yesterday after an absence of around 10 years. The interior has changed somewhat, but still retains the feel of a traditional pub, with a reasonable range of ales on offer, in... More

Had not been in this pub for a long time & just decided to call in for a drink on our way back to the station. We stayed for two hours & had three drinks. Good old fashioned pub full of characters with people coming & going, we be back for a pint on my next visit to the city.... More

If you are ever in the Gay Village area of Manchester this for me is one of the better bars a bit like your typical back street pubs. Decent quality of drink and good service. Worth visiting

Nice, traditional pub, not noisy and mad like the rest of the gay village. We liked it as it seemed to cater for the older crowd, but that might just have been on that day in the middle of Bearbash.

We had 40 minutes to wait for a bus so we popped in here as it was the nearest bar. Due to the location the clientele were very outgoing and obviously regulars. We were made very welcome and the wine was fine. Apparently it has just changed hands. Must say it is cleaner than when I last visited about 8... More

I decided after a very tiring journey from Torquay, to have a drink to unwind. As ive been in this pub before, to call in. Staff very unpolite, beer was warm. It used to be a good place, it is in a very poor state. The date was 25th Feb 2016
