    The Temple
Ok, what can I say to stop folks thinking I'm smoking something. This is an oddity that all and sundry should visit not just because it has a great selection of drinks, not because the barman is a borderline comic that makes ya all feel welcome but the atmosphere of the place itself is to be experienced. From the artwork on the wall to the stories about ' Phil '. I have stumbled across many a gem but this little place will burst the smiles out anytime you visit. You have 1 task though, ask about Phil. Oh and you have to experience the toilet graffiti

    Pleasantly surprised.
We were walking past here last night and whilst it is a place I’d heard of and read about, I’ve never actually been. We decided to nip in for a quick drink and I was pleasantly surprised. The guy behind the bar was really friendly - great customer service and the other punters were also lovely. Decent atmosphere considering it was a Tuesday night and I quite like the romance of being underneath the City.

    Something different
This is a great bar that used to be public toilets, believe it or not! Set centrally on Oxford Road. You always have a good time there and it has a terrific atmosphere. They do a good bottled and draft beers at very reasonable prices. They have a terrific Jukebox so there's always good music on as well. The staff are friendly and happy to recommend a drink to your particular taste. In winter, it's a great place to go as it has a friendly cibe and our next visit isn't long off full

A below ground bar that’s a cut above the rest
I had heard of the Temple after hearing Elbow’s Guy Garvey sing (literally) its praises and what a cracking wee bar it is! Situated in a disused old style underground public loo, the Temple is very different and definitely worth a visit. Very cool vibe, great choice of drinks and a jukebox with an eclectic choice of music….6 plays for a pound isn’t bad! The toilets have some brilliant graffiti by Wilf which is worth a visit by itself! We will definitely be back!

I ordered half a cider and a pint for my friend. When the lady brought over two pints I politely explained she'd made a mistake. In a normal customer service environment the staff would have apologized instantly and brought over the correct order.

Instead this lady stared at me silently for five seconds waiting for me to say it was ok and I'd accept the drink which I didn't want. She offered no solution and was just angrily staring at me . I asked her if she could bring me the correct drink. She then stared at me with hateful eyes for another few seconds. I asked her why she was looking at me like that and she snapped aggressively, "you are so rude."

The staff member was from South America or Italy or Spain and was working on the 12th June in the afternoon.

The temple is a lovely bar and I recommend it to others so don't let one entitled and spoiled girl spoil it for you.

I've talked past The Temple many times and finally decided to take a punt and stop by for a drink. This is a dinky little dice bar, with a surprising array of beers. I enjoyed trying a momento Mori, while my mates stayed on the spirits. Fair prices. Enjoyed sitting out on a sunny day.

Words fail me & the wife was scared at half one in the afternoon. She's never downed a G&T so fast after stating she could catch a disease in the place. All in all I'm looking forward to bringing her back.

Guy with handlebar moustache was so rude to me and my friends. He refused to let us pay in two groups or three, instead saying "do you want a problem" absolute weapon.

I love this place. Its very small, but great for a drink and to chill. The music selection is good. The owner was playing the cure and then switched to Otis Redding.

Awesome lil stop off 😉

We love this bar. Every time we go to Manchester, we visit the Temple. AS it says, this used to be a public underground bathroom that was converted to a small bar. It is dark, small, cozy, dive-bar style, and we love it. If you're in Manchester and looking for a unique experience, and a cheap drink (big servings, great prices), you've got to stop here and have a drink. They also serve Erdinger, my favorite Wheat Beer from Germany.
