This museum right next to the cathedral lets you look close up at some of the original statuary from the exterior -- it has been put in the museum to safeguard it from the elements, and replaced with sandstone replicas on the edifice itself. Also, you can see some stained glass up close, and part of the original interior screen.... More

The museum covers a range spectrum from parts of the Cathedral to 16th/17th centuary furniture from Strasbourg richs' houses. I was expecting primarily to see more about the way Cathedral was constructed and pieces related to it. While there are some sculptures and pieces ofwork from the cathedral, the exhibition is somewhat limited. Stages of the construction are shown but... More

There are dozens of things to see at this museum and if you're interested in things from sculpture to paintings to antiquities and even to stained glass, you'll probably like the museum. For me the coolest part was the layout. First of all, the rooms are all marked, the maps are clear, and it walks you through without missing anything.... More

This is a small museum that has stain glass, statuary, paintings and wooden sculptures to be seen close up. If anyone has to be to the Cluny in Paris, I actually liked this one better. Combines well with 1st a visit to the Cathedral right across the way and then to this museum. (The museum pass only pays a portion... More

We particularly like getting up close and personal to the sculptures on display. Remarkable carvings exhibiting individual character and physical traits. The collection of sculptures from the cathedral are a reminder that these old buildings are constantly being renewed.

Strasbourg is wonderful. We visited while on a Viking River cruise. Alsatians are very friendly. We also did a canal cruise of the city. All in all it was a marvelous experience.

This is the museum about the History of the Cathedral of Strasbourg, but it is actually a museum of Medieval Art with an incredible collection of artifacts. The Museum itself is in a building from 1347 (!!) which is beautiful. Well worth a visit !!
