Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited ‘Le trinquet Saint-Andre’ mentioned in a brochure we picked up at the Tourist Office without knowing what a ‘trinquet’ was. It turned out to be a covered sports court where a group of young people was playing the traditional sport of Basque pelota (‘pelote Basque’ in French), a kind of squash. A nice complement to our visit to the Basque Museum where a whole room is dedicated to the history of this traditional sport. Access if free. There even is a brasserie in the courtyard next to the court.

Not a whole lot to say other than the fact this is a Trinquete, which, I guess we could say a standard handball court (compared to Spain) with a covered, I guess I would call it a "shack", running the length of the left-hand wall.
The ball is playable off the roof of the structure, which, makes it unique, especially when compared with the Spanish conception of "pelota", which has no such structure.
Whenever I visit Bayonne, usually on Saturdays, you can often find people playing an informal match. There aren't many places like this, to my knowledge. No admission charge. There is a local bar just outside the entrance if you want a quick wine.

We found this place purely by accident, and found 3 gentlemen practicing pelota. A former real tennis court, it was converted to a pelota hall in the C16th and is the oldest pelota court in the world. The viewing gallery is upstairs.

Atypical place, between a terrace to have a drink and room where this plays the game of palm.
We loved it, even if it meant having a drink as much avoid the terraces as there are in all the big cities.
