It was a cold day in December so this was a perfect place to go. The museum was interesting but not as interactive as I thought it would be. We didn't take children but felt that they may get bored. There were some interesting exhibits. Suitable for adults. Expensive.

Lots of exibits but not the "adventure" it is named. Lots of history and technical stuff but thats it and at 9.50€ seemed a bit expensive.

I had a couple of hours spare between meetings in Clermont and was recommended to go to the museum. It is easy to find, good value (approx 8EUR) and well presented. Loved the original vehicle and advertising displays and the videos for the Ladoux testing centre were fantastic. Recommend.

I was in Clermont-Ferrand for a conference in early November. Due to the overwhelmingly good review on Trip Advisor, I decided to take the local Metro for a quick visit to this place. It is certainly worth a visit, as you would learn so much more about Michelin. Definitely a recommended place if you are in Clermont-Ferrand, irrespective of whether... More

I visited at the weekend in September but it was still quite full, I didn't realise how much Michelin has attributed not just to tyres but to aviation etc!!

If you understand French or English and stay at Clermont-Ferrand, you should visit L'Aventure Michelin. Use the Tram line A, station State M. Michelin. More than know about the background of a tire manufacturer and the history behind the Michelin man, you will learn a lot about how tires are made and what they evolved through the years. With a... Great museum but go round by yourselves. Almost everything is in English. The guides are a nuisance. Watch the little videos. My favourite was eight half tracks crossing the Himalayas and the rest of China from Beirut to Pekin in the early thirties. Amazing footage and very well restored.

There's more to Michelin than tyres, from races to trains on tyres in colonial outposts. The museum gives a complete history of the company and characters behind it. My only nerdy criticism is that I still don't understand why radial tyres cause less friction and heat. Like many French museums it's cafe is a few vending machines and a seating... More
