See what you can do when money's no object. This was a 15th century manor house transformed in the 19th century into a chateau by a Russian Imperial Princess, Zénaïde Narisckine and her husband Count Charles de Chauveau, to be a holiday home. Apparently she...More

A great way to spend a typical showery Brittany morning. The staff were very helpful and provided a charming English guide. The history of the Chateau was fascinating, in beautiful surroundings.

I would recommend a visit to support the cause of restoring the castle but be aware you can't visit the castle unless you take a guided tour so probably good to find out in advance what times the tours are at. If you rock up...More

We enjoyed the visit , particularly the guided tour by volunteer guides who had a wealth of knowledge about this amazing place. The eclectic mix of architecture and the history of the occupants and links to Russian royalty make for a really good morning or...More

Currently undergoing restoration, the 10 (out of 44) rooms open to the public are both fascinating and a great example of how a Russian Princess made her mark in Brittany. The tour around the chateau takes 1 hour and seems to fly by! The volunteer...More

This Chateau is being refurbished very slowly, 28 years and counting. There is not that much inside, contents having been sold off by previous, less dedicated, owners. The story is interesting and very well presented by the guides. Unfortunately, we were kept waiting in the...More

Interesting mixture of styles and beautiful exterior and kitchen. The story of the castle is even better: love, greed, and deceit. Sound like a soap from more than a hundred year ago. Special thanks to guide who was a volunteer.
