The museum is in the centre of town and costs €6.00 for adult entry. It is a very large museum so it is convenient that it is possible to leave and re-enter at any point in the same day. A great deal of thought and...More

I'm so glad I decided to take a later train and wander around this museum. The collection of contemporary art is really cool, and not at all repetitive of what you may have already seen in Paris.

It skulks in a shabby looking part of Rue Emile Zola. The bus stop over the road is the only indication of its presence. A tiny sign on the front door confirms your suspicions. This is the place. You've won the hide-and seek. For all...More

The building itself is worth seeing plus the interesting display of arts. Definitely worth spending an hour checking out.

For art lovers this museum is well worth the 6 euro admission. It is not a spectacular, greatest hits- style collection but a solid review of the history of French art over the last 500 years.

The name "Beaux Art" may fool you into thinking that the beaux-arts school of art is all you will find in this lovely building. Although they certainly have a nice selection of those works, they also have contemporary, modern, avant-garde and even a few masters...More

Beautiful small museum; very appropriate activity for a rainy Sunday in Rennes; approximately 2hrs visit; you can find art from old Egypt to sculptures and paintings of our century. Picasso, Rubens, Tanguy and Lacombe painters are present as well.

In reading the reviews I expected a very small collection. But you can easily spend 1-1/2-2 hours there. A few master paintings with lots of other interesting pieces.

This museum contains a varied collection of traditional pieces - many from Brittany - along with some more recent pieces (late 19th century) and some very recent modern pieces. The entry price is good value and provides some interesting entertainment for an hour or so....More

Very average. Only worth the effort if you happen to be passing by. The permanent collection has a few good modern pieces and some 20th Century art that is notable, but that is about it.
