Owner/guide gives an informative and amusing presentation of the history of the castle and the powers in the area throughout history BUT only in French although he speaks fluent English. I enjoyed it very much However for those who do not speak French there really is no accommodation made for them. the handout in English does not allow one to... More

We've been here, on the way to Paris. Th e castle has a nice structure and 4-5 rooms are renewed. Compared to the tour the price for a family is quite high. The guide is in French. We understand it about 50%. I general you can feel a strange atmosphere like if the owner is kind of in not good... More

On arriving at the Chateau we were approached by two men on foot. The first immediately spoke to us in English and asked if we were there for the tour. As we started to reply the second man rudely shouted at us in French. He either did not care or was oblivious to the fact we understood him perfectly. He... More

We found this lovely place as we were staying for two days in a gite d'hote nearby, the visit from the Comte Philippe de Chastellux is very interesting and a lot of fun! We absolutely recommend to visit this place.

This magnificent chateau, in the Morvan Forrest has been in the same family for 100's of years. The host gives a tour- make sure you schedule to be there for it- it is in french but there are English printed guides where you can follow along. The castle is magnificent and his family's dedication to restoring it and keeping it... More

One hour guided tour of the castle by entertaining and comedic current owner whose family has owned the property for over 1000 years.
