About
As a vine grower and craftsman , Maison Champy is located in the heart of Beaune, the capital of the Burgundian wine region. CHAMPY is the oldest wine company in Burgundy with its buildings inspired by the Eiffel school of architecture, listed by the historical monuments of Beaune, with the cellars of the Bell from the XVth century which belonged to the Jacobin convent. Today the wine grower and craftsman expertise is revealed in the 21 ha owned on the Côte de Beaune, in particular in Pernand-Vergelesses.

We recently had the pleasure of taking a wine tour at Maison Champy, and it was an exceptional experience, largely thanks to our guide, Daniele. From start to finish, the tour was informative, engaging, and thoroughly enjoyable. Our group had a lot of fun learning the rich history and process of winemaking and at last, enjoying the wine from this historic winery. Thank you, Daniele!

A very interesting and informative tour, describing the history and classifications of wines in Beaune and the surrounding area with a tasting of 5 wines. Our guide, Daniele, was very welcoming and knowledgeable, explaining the fascinating history of Maison Champy and the origin and qualities of the wines. Highly recommended!

A wonderful experience that gave me great insight into the wines of the Burgundy region and particularly Beaune, and how accreditation happens in relation to the climat of where the grapes are grown. Pauline was an excellent host and it was quite incredible to be standing amongst cellars that were 500 years old and stretched for a kilometre under this beautiful town. There were wines from as early as 1858 and to hear of the link with Louis Pasteur and also Gustave Eiffel to Maison Champy was so interesting. The tasting was very nice too of course and the whole tour was fantastic value for money. Thank you!

Our family of four had a terrific experience today at the Maison Champy! We participated in the Cave Tour with our wonderful guide, Daniel. His knowledge of the region, winery, and history was truly impeccable and I have nothing but the highest praises for our experience. As a group from California, we are quite familiar with Napa Valley wines and have also spent time throughout various wine regions in France learning about the French wines. However, this was our first time in Beaune and we were certainly excited to grow our knowledge of wines of the Burgundy region!

What we loved about this tour is how it went far beyond the introductory level. Daniel took the time at the beginning of the tour to understand our level of knowledge and experience with wine before crafting a tour which delved into greater detail about the specifics of the wine and the Burgundy region. Each of us left the experience feeling as if we'd learned a tremendous amount and had each of our questions answered so thoroughly!

Beyond the tour itself, the wines were amazing! We would highly recommend this tour for any of those interested in the history of the Maison Champy, the wines of the Burgundy region, or who love to taste fabulous wines. We will certainly be back for another visit and ask for Daniel again!

Horrible visit! So disappointed that the trip was ruined by a extremely rude and unprofessional host.

Delicious wines but a horrible experience.

I would advise seeking more locally tours and not using major websites.

This is a tourist trap.

We had a tour, wine-tasting and dinner at Maison Champy as part of a private group trip. The winery is famous as the oldest surviving winery in the world. However, since the original family died out in the 1960s it has been bought and sold by various large wine-making concerns and is now basically just another label for a wine conglomerate. The tour was interesting, if a bit corporate, but the wine was not impressive. The first bottle (our welcome drink) had not aged well but was apparently served to us without anyone tasting it. The other wines were better but of mixed quality. The dinner (not sure if the chef regularly prepares dinners there) was excellent.
