Nothing more to say: beautiful street. You will think that you have landed here several hundreds years ago (just remove all the smartphones and it is 1650 anno domini)

Walking along Rue Des Forges and it's surrounding streets gives you a real feel of the 'old Dijon'. Great retained architecture, from the roofs to the doors just oozes age, commerce and history. The way modern shops and cafes have been mulched into the old...More

With many restaurants and cafes in this area, it's a very nice place to sit around and do nothing or eat and eat and drink and be merry!

Wow! This place was amazing and a must. Old, old buildings that really create the ambience of an old medieval city, this is what one thinks of when picturing old Europe. What Dijon has done in terms of keeping the old buildings and repurposing them...More

Some houses on this street dated back to XIV - XV centuries. Very pleasant walk. Many good looking shops, bakeries, restaurants, etc.

Love the smattering of Medieval architecture in the city, mixed with buildings of later centuries. A wonderful city for just wondering and taking in the sights, especially architectural. Dijon is definitely worth a visit for 2-3 days.

We go there on Sunday and full of people. It looks a big open air market. It is great to enjoy local people's life.

I still hold the view that, as far as main shopping streets go, this one is distinctly average and only has an element of picturesque quality down by the carousel and statue. Other than that, it is a mishmash of run of the mill shops....More

There is so much architecture it is difficult to find the right words without repeating yourself. I think the best sentiment came from a small boy who came round the corner turned to his mother and said "How do they all stay standing, they should...More
