The Royal Chateau of Blois is your gateway into the Val de Loire. The Royal Chateau of Blois is the first important place to discover as you come from Paris. It is a true synthesis of the art and history of the Loire Valley chateaux, and makes it an ideal introduction for your visit. The rich architecture of the four different wings echoes the diversity of styles of the many chateaux built in the Loire Valley from the Middle Ages to the 17th Century.

Although we made this a shorter trip, the chateau was interesting and clearly explained in the displays. We also included the Maison de Magie in the visit. This was very interesting and we went to the included magic show. It ran for 35 minutes and...More

Visited here twice in one day: a normal visit and then the Son et Lumiere. Spent hours visiting the various parts of the chateau that are open and learned loads. Had a very late lunch. The evening was great. We had an audio guide so...More

This château is a lovely family visit. The views of Blois from the viewpoint of the wall. The intricate stairs are gorgeous & it's so unique in how it's embedded in the heart of the city.

Blois is laden with history, four separate styles of architecture, tons of art, and an incredible nighttime light show. We visited probably six chateaux during our trip to the Loire and this is the one I would recommend the most, hands down!

We visited twice, once to look around the interior of the chateau and a second time to experience their nightly son et lumiere presentation. As a royal chateau, there is lots of French history and the written explanations in English were very good so we...More

A big thank you to Amandine and all the other staff for making our visit wonderful. They freely gave out information about what rooms were used for (when the audio guide did not give you this information).

When we were there last week we couldn't get to Chambord but I suspect that is resolved by now. Best to check with those currently in France.
