About

Amazing animals

Quite a sight as one ate lunch. The figures come out of the windows and I imagine could be quite scary for youngsters

Don't waste your time. Go to the Castle Royal de Blois across the square.
Jun 2019
We were 9 in total and we went to the Maison de la Magie instead visiting the Castle Royal de Blois right across the street to please the 5 teens in our group. The place was being visited by several school groups at the same time and despite few items were interesting, the confusion and the noise made our visit really unpleasant. The only good point was a play about Da Vinci that was good. The teens hated it.

You need your French!
Sep 2019 • Couples
We thought this might be a little different so we gave it a go. Although it is over 4 floors, there is not much there by way of exhibits; and there is very very little by way of English translations. So you need to be pretty fluent in French to get the best out of it. There is a 30 minute magic show which is ok, especially for kids.

So if you are fluent, and have €10 and a few hours to burn, then give it a go.

Not very tourist friendly
Aug 2019 • Family
After reading such excellent reviews we were very disappointed in this place. We visited with four children ages 11-15. The staff on the reception were quite rude despite out attempts to speak French. We were given a leaflet but no information about show times. Nothing was posted anywhere and we were reluctant to return to the desk after the less than warm welcome. There were almost no translation s of the information provided which is a shame when I am sure there were many non French speaking visitors. We didn’t see the show or the top floor as after a hot trail round the other sections we were ready to give up.

Very interesting but wear thin clothes!

We visited Maison de la Magie as it was a rainy day and we thought it would entertain the kids for a couple of hours. We were surprised to be immediately ushered into a stage show which lasted about 30 mins and was very good.

The rest of the place is, in effect, a museum with both science and magic displays, most of which are interactive and fun for the younger ones.

There is, however, no air conditioning and not many opening windows and we found the atmosphere very hot, muggy and stifling in places. I wish I'd worn my shorts! But that shouldn't put you off going as the positives vastly outweigh the negatives.

We had a joint ticket for this and the chateau and saw it just as an extra really.

But it’s great. Lots of interesting exhibits and information.

The show is very good with my child, who doesn't speak French finding it hilarious as well.

Well worth a visit

Perfect place to go with 4+ years old kids. Most of the stuff was described also in english. The Show at the theatre was really worth the wait.

Check the times of shows and illusions
Jul 2019
One of the floors was quite standard, mirror that make you look funny, things that do tricks on your eyes such as can you see both faces etc.. they didn't have a mirror maze which is a shame. I have been to 2 and they great one in Edinburgh. When I brought my ticket the woman didn't give me a booklet but I was lucky. There is a Theatre show at set times and hours of illusions again at set times make sure you fit those in first and see the rest at your own leisure

Great, but only if you are fluent in written French
Jun 2019 • Couples
Interesting museum, with many interesting exhibits and a reasonable stage show, the top floor with its illusions was particularly good. However very little effort has been made to translate any information, signs, descriptive boards from French so if you are not fluent in written French then the attraction may disappoint i. Many areas

Dragons outside are great, inside is worth only with small children
May 2019 • Family
Dragons outside is great attraction and children loves it. Inside is exciting only for small children, as I found the exposition pretty basic. Children however enjoyed the show and Hallucinoscope.
