Previous reviewers have said it all - a different perspective to the chateaux etc and an insight into 'art'.

After lots of chateaux our older teenagers wanted something different. This was it! Some really unusual but entertaining artworks here. We really liked the car doors that drum as you approach and the table tennis with a range of challenging bats! Don't think it would be of interest to younger children (and some bits challenge your notion of what is art) but certainly a good way to spend an afternoon.

cool two hours inside this place, had also a quick lunch at the bar, I think it's a solid alternative to castles, of course be aware that it's a particular art movement so...keep that in mind when going into

If you have come to the Loire Valley for culture, culture, culture and found yourself fed up to the gills with it, then this might be a nice interlude for you - especially if you're trailing blasé teenagers behind you! Once in Blois, follow signs to the Fondation de Doute (white lettering on black background), home to the Fluxus Group that includes Yoko Ono and John Cage. Admittedly there could be more done to translate the group's work but hey come on, everybody has got a little French haven't they? Google it! The best thing to do is to start at the café Fluxus then once you've had the main course and desert (v. important go for the pink candy floss one ) head off to the museum. Don't hesitate to pick up a surrealist ping pong racket at the end of the exhibition and have a game. The food has been created by the top chef at the Domaine de Haut de Loire in Onzain (mega bucks) but the food he has designed for the Fluxus café is very reasonable ( under 10 euros).

A slightly out of the way museum of Lettrisme and the work of Dadaists, Surrealists and French conceptual artists such as Duschamp and others such as Dali and Man Ray and later international art stars such as the group Fluxus which has local roots. This is a living institution, not the usual dead collection. This museum has an excellent **top rate** cafe which is undiscovered. The aim of the museum is to make you rethink what art is, what it is for and how it can improve and ennoble your life. This is a must see and proof that locals still have tricks up their sleeves.
