Either before or after or preferably both this is a MUST DO while visiting the Chartres cathedral. I came after taking Malcolm Miller's excellent mid-day tour inside the cathedral and it all at last made sense - to be able to get up close and...More

This centre is definitely worth a visit. Here many exact copies of the stained glass columns in the Chartres Cathedral can readily be examined and analysed. They are brought down to a height where they can be appreciated. For instance I took the life of...More

Went to see the Medieval stained glass, which are very interesting. Downstairs is a collection of modern stained glass, some of which are equally impressive.

It is a spectacular place with all the details of the glass mosaic technique and I was also pleased with a modern exibition full of light and colors! Unique and pretty. The place's architecture is worthy as well. Take your time and appreciate it slowly.

I enjoyed the stained glass and replicas of glass but was a bit disappointed that there was no glass making going on or more detailed exhibits of the history of the art. Worth seeing but I wouldn't make a trip to Chartre just for this.

I visited this Centre in September 2014. It has two very interesting exhibitions which I enjoyed. There was some signage and explanations in English, but, inexplicably, the descriptions of the very interesting bits (about the processes of restoration of medieval stained glass) were only in...More
