About

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was happy to show this castle to my little family. I had a good memory of having been there twice in my youth
On arrival High Award (especially for children) but a beautiful facade, a French garden we think it is worth it. The euphoria was short-lived
Upon entering the castle we realize that a filming takes place and blocks some theaters. In the end after the dining room we are taken directly to the first floor. Exit the living rooms furnished with beautiful empire furniture. We won't see them
In the first the long corridor presents an exhibition on the Second World War without much interest. The parts are in poor condition and poorly maintained. I no longer recognize the castle I had visited
In the back another gallery shows us a photo exhibition and we arrive in a room feeling the closed, empty. I have nothing against photo exhibitions but when you come to see Talleyrand Castle it is not to see it
We end up redirected to the kitchen where a small scene fe theatre raises the level a little. We then visit the gardens in a pitiful state tiut seems abandoned. Quarries in the park that have a real interest are totally abandoned (except not mosquitoes)
The maze pleased the children anyway
In the end I really feel like a mess because there is so much to do with this historic place. To be taken over urgently or it will fall into ruin within 20 years
Ps: thanks to the foodtruck for its Italian ice cream

Bonjour,

5/5 for the castle, beautiful and perfectly maintained
0/5 for the snack, run by one or a Charlot who sells his fleet bottles at the head of the customer (8 euros a plastic vittel bottle in the middle of the heatwave with mummies)
Poor type

We only visited the park which is rather friendly: the French garden, the animals, the maze and the air of games (too bad no swing). However I strongly advise against foodtruck. 4 euros heated pancake, waiter smoking, not to mention the air conditioner that is malfunctioning the condensation water potentially flows into your pancake...

While passing through, we let ourselves be tempted by a visit to the castle without much conviction at first glance. Well received by a charming employee, we discovered this magnificent building. Bright and sumptuous, some of the greatest nobles of the time stayed there, and we understand why! the rooms are all more beautiful than the others and the park is ideal for a charming stroll in the sun. Special mention for the (very cute) kids and lambs in the menagerie. Not to be overlooked if you are in the region!!

Very nice castle, very friendly staff is welcoming, arrive in the rain because of capricious weather , the staff explains the direction of the visit, and also that normally for the exit of the castle it is necessary to go through the kitchens, but that seeing the weather we can go back through the entrance of the castle . Well furnished castle , pleasant and interesting visit. The rooms of the castle are spacious. Visiting the castle with the help of the QR code allows you to have plenty of explanation.
The castle park is very large , but allows for a very nice walk , with several places a beautiful view of the castle. The castle park is well maintained. Which must not always be easy, given the capricious weather this spring 2024. Congratulations to the gardeners for their work.
The castle is also well maintained.

Very beautiful castle, super well furnished. Very kind staff and the animals are affectionate. The forests are pleasant. And the music too.
However, the gardens lack flowers and colors and the toilets lack hygiene.
Around 2h30 of visit, it remains a little castle.

Very beautiful castle and gardens and park. It's a shame that one of the wings is under construction but that doesn't stop you from visiting the rest of the castle. Remember to scan the QR code at the ticket office, which allows you to have all the explanations about the rooms of the castle and to visit at your own pace. Very interesting and there are lots of very well furnished and beautiful rooms. You will have a good, long time there. there are also animals in the park... Absolutely worth visiting.

A magnificent castle rather little known. A little Chambord. The tour is interesting. Take the time to stroll in the very large park and walk on the paths of the estate. Allow 4 hours with the park. Prefer visits in the morning and bring your picnic.

Magnificent castle. We took guided tours of the theater (prohibited to the public on self-guided tours) and the castle. The guides were very good. Both on the theater and on the castle we learned a lot of things. It was great. I recommend the guided tours.

It was built in 1550; however, Talleyrand purchased it in 1803 and it is decorated as it was when he occupied it.
