Troyes is in the centre of a part of France (Aube) that has the greatest number of stained glass windows in the country, and the Aube is probably the most famous in Europe. No charge to look round an interesting selection of glass, and find out about the designs of windows by the Cistercians. It sounds like the displays will vary over time, so it'll be worth going back again on another visit to Troyes.

You are better off visiting the churches. The museum is just OK but nothing to brag about. For me this was perhaps 20 min stroll through the museum. You can see an evolution in the stain glass technology but some explanation in English would be helpful. Otherwise a pleasant place to visit.

The items shown in the exhibition are on loan so they are not on permanent display. It was an opportunity to have a close view of old stained glass, after it has been cleaned and restored. At the time of our visit there were not many people around and the very friendly staff took time to explain why this region... More

A fantastic new space dedicated to the art of stain glasses of the whole area. Hosted in beautiful historical building, it is completely free and it gives you a panoramic of this art in the whole area. Staff is also very friendly.

Have to be a stained glass person to really enjoy this this one subject museum. But interesting for a short visit.
