To bring the age-old traditions of the Hammam (steam room) to modern life,...

To bring the age-old traditions of the Hammam (steam room) to modern life, and to transmit the precious values of this practice to other women – these are the desires that motivated Karisma Lasfar to share her culture and its history. The opening of O’Kari Hammam-spa was the fulfilment of these long-cherished aspirations. How much time do you have ? Karima wants to know if you have enough time to spare to receive the true Hammam experience. Two hours at least! And three would be much better! That’s because the Hammam experience at O’Kari is the polar opposite of all those “express” beauty treatments offered elsewhere.A sign of refinement and civilization in antiquity, the Hammam is an art of living, a rite dedicated to the harmony and the beauty of the body. This deserves all the time we can spare.

After sightseeing and walking all over Paris in cold, rainy weather, we booked a day to relax and refresh. It was a wonderful experience. My hair be skin are still softer than ever even three weeks later. The massage was wonderful. The steam room, black soap and jacuzzi made my skin feel wonderful. The scalp massage and facial were wonderful... More

One of my absolute favorite places in ALL of Paris I come monthly for work and this place leaves me ready to go home. The treatments are amazing and the people are so kind. The place is immaculate and you feel like you are in a different time and place. Highly recommended for any woman .

I booked for the 3 hour 'beauty package'. Overall, as per my title says, it was a mixed but good experience. I visited on - what seemed to be a very busy - Saturday. While generally quiet and peaceful, it did at times feel like there were a lot of people in quite a small space. The Spa was extremely... More

This place was awesome!!! I booked my appointment along with my two older teenage daughters. Unfortunately the appointment had a mix up but I still had my confirmation on my phone and the owner honored the appointment. They went above and beyond to make out experience wonderful. It was everything I wanted and more. Thank you so much for making... More

I went to the Hammam Spa on a Saturday afternoon. The moment you enter you feel you just stepped into a paradise of heat. The steam room is clean and spacious, and the jacuzzi is refreshing. The best part is the strong scrub followed by gentle massage with soap and the shampooing. The atmosphere is quiet and therapists are all... More

I didn't know what to expect when I entered but was pleasantly surprised. I don't speak French and was nervous about the communication, but got along just fine by talking to the right people who knew enough English to direct me. I did the two hour basic which was more than enough for me. Process is you enter into a... More

Absolutely amazing! I had never been to a hamman, so after I had read the reviews on TripAdvisor I made arrangements through my hotel to book a package at O'Kari. When I arrived at O'Kari I was graciously welcomed by the woman at the front desk. She advised me of what was going to happen and then escorted me to... More

Highly recommended for a luxurious getaway. The atmosphere was serene, the hammam was clean and very comfortable. In addition to being highly professional and skilled, the staff was sweet, welcoming and smiling. I chose the basic treatment package, and enjoyed every second of my stay. I will definitely visit O'Kari again.

I've visited Paris from Australia many times but never been to a hammam. I decided this time to give one a go and thankfully chose o'kari. Spent 3 relaxing hours there for 200 E and enjoyed the steam room, jaccuzi (a cold blast!), a full body scrub (haven't been so clean since I was born), hair treatment, facial and massage.... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
