Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This very long street links the eastern part of the city with the west. Part was laid out by Napoleon on the side of the Louvre and built with arcades that house shops. It is much improved now that car traffic has been routed off. Just buses and cabs now.

Stretching from Place de la Concorde to (changing its name to Rue Saint Antoine, on the way) Place de la Bastille, this is a very busy street, for traffic and pedestrians alike. There is so much to see, the demographic changes constantly along the way, it is hard for the walker to get bored. The Concorde, Louvre stretch would have to be our favourite.

This very long street provides part of the east-west axis for the city. It was carved out pre-Haussmann and expanded. Runs along the side of the Louvre and sports some lovely arcades along the way with some shops, mostly souvenirs. The center of the Right Bank.

Lots of beggars, construction work, hoardings, Paris is very different. Construction work for the Olympics but the number of beggars in Rivoli surprised me. I've been to Paris other times and I've never seen so many people on the streets begging. Even on the subway

This is a major east-west street that crosses much of the Right Bank. It takes you past the Louvre, the Tuileries Gardens, the Palais Royal, and lots of other monuments. Lots of tourist shopping along the way. And the street sidewalks were jammed with tourists. Some arcades. Lots of public transit.

Rue de Rivoli is one of the most famous streets in Paris, transversing the 1st and 4th districts of the Right Bank from Place de la Concorde to the Rue de Sevigne intersection nearly 3km to the east.
There are numerous historic buildings and sightseeing opportunities for visitors along Rue de Rivoli. Plenty of shopping, eateries, coffee shops along the street as well. Here you'll find Place du Concorde, Jardin des Tuileries, Place des Pyramides, The Louvre, Saint-Germain-l'Auxerrois, Place du Châtelet, Tour Saint Jacques and Hôtel de Ville.
Metro stations that run the length of Rue de Rivoli include Concorde, Tuileries, Palais Royal Musée du Louvre, Louvre – Rivoli, Châtelet, Hôtel de Ville and Sant-Paul Metro stations. Thus, visitors have plenty opportunities to make way to Rue de Rivoli from various places around the city.

On my Paris visits, I usually end up on this 1.9-mile street between rue Sevigne and Place de Concorde, at least once. It holds fashionable shops, souvenir places, upscale hotels, famous gardens, monuments, restaurants, world-class museums and much more. My most recent stroll took me to the Louvre on its south side for a comprehensive Delacroix exhibition. I entered the museum here through the Carousel de Louvre, a shopping mall with excellent stores that has always given me quicker access than the pyramid entrance. More shops are across the street in the Palais Royal arcade. I find the lovely palace garden to be a wonderful place for a respite from sightseeing and sometimes sit on a bench there eating a picnic lunch.
Rue de Rivoli runs through the 4th and 1st Arrondissements (districts). If I plan to walk the entire stretch, I often start in the 4th after spending time in the Marais area. Shop windows beckon but I usually wait to enter a store until I reach BHV Marais, owned by Galleries Lafayette with similar merchandise but usually lower prices. BHV never gets the overwhelming crowds that flock to GL. Hotel de Ville (city hall) stands across the street and is a magnificent building that deserves a closer look. The interior is stunning, too, and can be seen on a tour (reservation required), which I can highly recommend , based on my experience. Further west, the 16th-century, 171-foot-high, Flamboyant Gothic Saint-Jacques Tower beckons. It stands in a charming square that is nicely landscaped.
From here, it is a few blocks to the Louvre and the really fine Musee des Arts Decoratifs next door. Then the superb Jardin des Tuileries begin. But I usually cross the street here to walk by the dozens of souvenir shops, most featuring inexpensive scarves (not made in France) and postcards. I bypass these to enter WHSmith or Libraries Galigani or both to browse through their excellent selection of English-language books. WHSmith offers an especially wide magazine selection. When I finally reach the street’s eastern boundary at Place de la Concorde, I like to turn back and wander through the Tuileries.
Rue de Rivoli is on the Right Bank of the Seine, quite near this river and running parallel to it. The street is easily accessible by bus and metro and is close to many Paris attractions

I believe "The Tuileries" was burnt down during the French Revolution, therefore how is it now connecting to"The Louvre" enclosing a vast square?
