Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This review covers only the spa:
The reception for the spa is a small space dominated by a large desk where staff stand. There is one couch to the right big enough for 3 people to sit. The greeter had to squat on her haunches while she checked me and my 2 girlfriends in. There was hardly enough room for her to be in that space. There are doors off the reception area that go to men/women locker rooms, the pool, and a small Chanel boutique and hair salon are adjacent to the reception. The ceiling is very low so the space feels even smaller and quite constricted. It is also quite hot there in the winter, perhaps because of the pool and salon so close. We were sent to the locker room to change into robes.
The womens locker room is also very small with very low ceilings. With approximately 8 people in there, you are up close and personal with strangers. There are 3 showers and they are in a tiny cramped quadrant.
The shampoo, conditioner and lotions were in single use bottles which I personally think should be abolished. If the hotelier reads this, seriously consider wall mounted dispensers and better quality products. The quality of the products was equal to a Best Western. It was not good, why not support the product used in the salon? There was one sample size bottle of root boost (from the salon) by one of the 2 hair dryers, but it didn't smell good or feel luxurious.
I didn't bring my cosmetics with me and after our massages I needed something and the girl in the boutique obliged me with foundation and mascara samples. That was very sweet and helpful.
The locker room area is just too small, when we undressed we had to go back to the reception area to wait, in our robes! There should be a separate area for relaxation before the massage. Being on display in the lobby is NOT relaxing! Plus my robe was too small and I was uncomfortable being there. I can't imagine a Saudi or Chinese woman waiting there...maybe it is just for Americans. A separate area with tea, water, fruit, magazines is obligatory in all of the top spas I've been to. The Ritz was a major disappointment to us. We just sat there with no water, no offer of tea, nothing. Very uncomfortable.
The massage was great! Letitia is superb and was the best part of the whole experience.
The rabbit warren of hallways and doors is confusing and I think the renovation missed the mark entirely. The low ceilings make it uncomfortably tight and cramped.
I would not recommend this to anyone wishing a relaxing experience.
There are only 3 showers and when I took mine, someone had just gotten out and the floors and walls were wet. Wish someone had been through to at least wipe it down.
Spatially, this spa is a mess. No natural light, very artificial. I would start drawing up plans for another renovation asap.

We treated ourselves to a manicure at the Chanel Spa and although it was an expensive treat it was very enjoyable. Followed by a glass of wine in the beautiful Ritz Cafe sitting under the trees in the outdoor courtyard.

If you receive a gift to spend a few hours being pampered at the one and only Ritz spa then you must be blessed. The journey starts with the gift card itself and then the massage, the facial, the makeup - the quick dip in the iconic pool. A tea and a juice to complement the experience. Words do not give justice to this beautiful place. The staff at the spa are role models in politeness and in their warm welcome. A special mention goes to Harmonie who made the experience even more pleasant.

I booked a 110-minute facial treatment for €320 more than a month ago and paid for it. This morning, the day of the treatment, I look at my email and read an email from the Ritz dated last night informing me that my therapist being ill I have the choice between moving forward to 9 a.m. or keeping 10 a.m. but only 70 minutes!!! I opted for the first solution which prevented me from having breakfast with a friend living in Washington scheduled in another palace on Avenue Montaigne at 8 a.m. When I arrived, I expressed my dissatisfaction and received an apology from the person at reception then I did my treatment and then as compensation I was offered a detox fruit juice croissant at the swimming pool. I declined and when I left I explained that I had not been able to have breakfast with my friend. Shock when the lady laughed….she seemed to find it very funny. What a lack of respect... we have been customers of the hotel for several years with stays, brunch, tea time, dinner, massages etc. but I am thinking of looking elsewhere during my next stay in Paris, disappointed by so much casualness.
