Neighbourhood: Bercy / Nation
Nestled between the Seine, Bastille, and Père Lachaise lies a peaceful side of town where wide avenues and impressive buildings accompany green spaces and small parks. Landscaped havens are plentiful, from the Bercy Park to La Coulée Verte and most impressively the Bois de Vincennes, which even contains a medieval castle on its doorstep. For an escape from the masses head to this calming neighbourhood where real Parisians make their homes.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hidden away near the Bastille and the Ledru Rollin metro is the small park, Square Armand Trousseau. One of the unique things about Paris is the numerous little gardens and parks which are great places to just kick back and let the kids play or to relax and have a picnic. Ironically, we met at the bakery across the street (Ble Sucre) to begin two walking tours in the area. One day we did a foodies walking tour of nearby Le Marche D'alegre food & farmer's market which was a great experience for the grandkids. The next afternoon, we met there again to start a wine tasting tour in the surrounding neighborhood. On the foodies' tour, we picked up croissants, cheese, ham, salami, jelly, bread, wine, pastries, and desserts from the shops, then brought them back to Square Trousseau and had a picnic. The park is like a miniature Jardin du Luxembourg, with dusty little gravel paths, tall trees, numerous flower beds, and a kid's playground. The square is gated and almost feels like private property but is open to the public.
