From the word go, Alex was a wonderful tour guide, full of energy, freely sharing his insights of so many different aspects of this amazing city and with so many layers of history, not immediately evident to the first-time visitor. Thanks Alex! I will certainly look you up again when back in Paris again and join another one (or two)... More

*Oliver* gave a wonderful, engaging and educational free walking tour. We appreciated how passionate he was as he shared an overview of Parisian culture and history. We were pleased to have taken this tour on our first morning in Paris. As a result, we decided to take a tour of the gardens of Versailles the next day. *Inga* shared beautiful... More

Kristen was a very energetic and knowledgeable guide. Told us a great amount of tidbits about Paris that I otherwise would have never known! Highly recommend this 2 hour walking tour as an introduction to Paris.

A tale of two tours... Firstly, we did the free tour with Kristen. Her passion for History, her knowledge of Paris and her engaging address of her tour made this tour truely unmissable. Although the tour is 'free' please, please do Tip at the end. It's worth every penny of these highly trained people's time. Secondly, we walked the evening... More

We were lucky enough to experience all the different Sandemanns tours in Paris with 3 fantastic tour guides. On the free tour and the tour on Montmatre Oliver made us cry with laughter and fiłled with awe with his dramtization and his knowledge of the history of Paris, it's historical figures and art. We also got a really good insight... More

Came to Paris for a long stay (9 days) so I thought that in order to get to see the city in depth you need some insider knowledge. No better option than all of the SANDEMANs tours then. Was I lucky that I got 3 legendary guides like Oliver for the free (I cried in laughter several times and got... More

Stayed for a couple of days in Paris and attended the Montmartre tour with Inga and free tour with Oliver. Inga really adores the area and her enthusiasm is addictive. She made the whole tour look like a great story, kept us interested from one stop point to another and also recommended a lot of great places to visit after.... More

Highly recommend the free walking tour. Or guide Oliver was engaging, entertaining and knowledgable. His anecdotes and antics brought historical details to life with humour and charm. A great introduction to Paris and it's history from pre-Roman times up to the early twentieth century.

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighbourhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighbourhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
