This was a lovely stop when after a busy morning of exploring Paris we wanted to make ourselves a picnic. Along the way we stopped in to look for a bottle of sparkling wine and we were met by the most lovely member of staff. He listened to what we wanted, made suggestions and ran through the differences to help... More

We had just arrived a bit stressed from early flight ! Well the first wine shop is definitely worth stopping at !! We wondered in feeling sheepish and asked for the cheapest wine !! The gent behind the counter picked me a lovery bottle for 5!!! Euros and chilled it for us and even offered plastic cups if we were... More

Part of a small chain, we were drawn into this shop on the foodie-friendly Rue Cler by the interesting window dispay and the stream of apparent locals shopping there. A very helpful young man with really good English and a well-tuned ear for customer interest helped us pick a couple of bottles, including a really tasty Corsican rose. Metro station... More

We stopped by this shop for a lunch after visiting the Catacombs. The address of this branch (there are several throughout Paris) was 18 Rue Daguere, 75014 Paris. It's not readily evident, but they serve some very nice servings as food and wine parings, and it makes a nice lunch. The proprieters, a young man and young lady, were very... More

I was staying near the store on rue de clichy. I went in and there were wine cases, boxes and debris everywhere. No apologies as I had to make my way around the clutter as three employees stood there. After asking for assistance a woman asked me some questions to help narrow down my selection. I told her I wanted... More

After watching a BBC program about hidden gems around Paris, I learned of Rue Cler and the gourmet shopping one can do along this street. Wandering up and down, I found Le Repaire du Bacchus wineshop and walked in to find a nice bottle of wine for a family member who is somewhat of a wine connoisseur. I browsed around,... More
