I have wanted to go here the past couple of times we have come to Paris and we finally made it on this trip. Based on all of the reviews I have read, it sounded like this would be such a great place to go and hang out for awhile. It is probably the dirtiest place in Paris we have... More

We took the tour boat that leaves from the Seine River near the d'Orsay Museum. The most wonderful part of the tour was going down the Seine by I'le de Cite and I'le Saint Louis past Notre Dame, the Louvre, and under the bridges that cross the Seine. I had trouble understanding the narration from the crew. Entering the Saint... More

Canal Saint Martin is a favorite of Parisan families on Sunday (in good weather). Otherwise, a gathering spot for young people from everywhere. Historically, the canal was vital to Paris and clean water and is an engineering marvel. The locks are interesting and worthwhile. Photographically dynamic and lovely.

Paris has so many great attractions that this is one for those that love canals or who have time to really explore -- it is more a voyage (on foot, the boats no longer run) through history with lots of side trips. We spent five hours wandering and really enjoyed our time, but we were in Paris for a week... More

The canal slows down the pace of daily living. Such a charming area especially on sunny days. Dotted with lovely bars and restaurants. One of the best art bookshops (3rd in the world) is close by.

We took this boat ride 10 years ago and have been back several times and it's one of the best things to do in Paris as it takes you to the inner neighborhoods.
