This was an impressive museum designed in a mansion where the architecture is as incredible as the great master's art! We were fortunate to visit at the time when American sculpture Alexander Calder's work was also on display. We explored the entire museum in spite of the fact my 6 year old (now 7) was only mildly interested. We had already seen many museums this being the 8th day of our 14 day trip. He was a trooper and even though I didn't get to linger on each work as I would normally, I did get lots of pictures so I can study them whenever I want!!

Museum Pass allowed me a fast access with no lines to follow. The museum was divided into FOUR floors exhibiting pieces like paintings, sculptures, pictures, mostly, and other articles like documents, prints and engravings. The day day I visited the museum, the exhibition included art work of Alexander Calder. All the collection was very interesting to travel through these artists` work.

This is the third time I have visited the Picasso museum and each time I am hoping it will get better and now after the third time I will never go back. Each time a significant portion of the museum was closed and each time the displays were poorly curated. The museum was supposed to be a reflection of Picasso and his interest in literature. One of the displays included paperback books by other authors that had Picasso Art on the book cover. I guess you could argue that was Picasso’s influence on the world of literature and the editors choice of a book cover but I just thought it was more like what an eighth grader would do if they were a curator. I am done with the Picasso museum forever and will never go back. The third time truly is in this case a lack of charm.

Hello and thank you for your comment. We are sincerely sorry to hear of your disappointment. Please believe that we are doing everything we can to allow visitors to appreciate the extent of Picasso's work. The museum's policy is to offer a new experience on each visit, thus we regularly renew the display that’s why some rooms could be closed. Looking forward to welcoming you again to the Musée national Picasso-Paris.

I stepped in as part of Rick Steves "Marais Walk" (in his 'Paris' guidebook - highly recommended). I'm not exactly a huge fan of the weird Picasso style (I am totally a realist), but the museum has many of his paintings and other works and it is laid out conveniently for visitors. It is obvious the layout is done with a lot of love and respect for the Artist and his work. There was a combo exhibition with Alexander Calder when I was there and they did a great job of displaying similar works for us to compare the styles and subject matters, it flowed together perfectly.

This was my second trip to this museum. I first visited the old one, which was more just a collection of his works in chronological order. This Museum provides better settings to see these works and context for them. The building is beautiful, as well. We visited first thing in the morning when the museum opened at 10:30 on week days. It was fun to walk to the museum from the metro, too. With the new renovations, the museum is an excellent introduction to Picasso's work.
