Queues for the Eiffel Tower can take over an hour at busy times but this skip-the-line tour lets you breeze past the crowds and enjoy priority access. Head straight up to the second floor and listen as your guide points out the Louvre, the Arc de Triomphe, and Notre Dame Cathedral. Finally, continue to the top floor on your own, where you can spend as long as you like admiring the views.

When I did my research on Paris before my first trip in May 2019, knew I wanted to shop on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore. This is the location where all the luxury fashion brands have a store in the heart of Paris. I saved all of my shopping to do at Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore because I wanted something that screamed Paris. There is every luxury brand from La Perla to my favorite, ALEXANDER MCQUEEN. A must when shopping in Paris but don't forget your passport for your VAT discounts.

The road offers a great range of high end shops and a few bars. It’s a nice walk from Place de Concorde up to the Arch de Triumph, away from the traditional champs.

This was originally one of the roads that led out of the center of Paris and was used for farmers to bring produce into the Les Halles market area. Now it is a commercial street with shopping, food and drink. Through a prosperous part of town.

The Rue Saint Honore is approximately two kilometres long but is effectively split into two sections the initial one being the Rue Saint Honore and the second the Rue di Faubourg Saint Honore meaning outside of the city walls. Given that the city walls are long gone the Rue Saint Honore morphs seamlessly into the Rue du Faubourg Saint Honore but it would appear that all of the major fashion houses including Versace, Hermes, Prada, Yves Saint Lauren etc are located in this section. Certainly on the Saturday morning we were walking down the narrow footpaths it was quite congested. Would avoid unless you are into upmarket fashion shopping.

Fashionistas flock to the fabulous Rue du Faubourg St. Honore, where the biggest names in fashion house their offerings in a dizzying array of shops. Here’s where you’ll find it ALL, as well as devotees from every corner of the planet. There is not one but two Chanel boutiques in this area. Can’t find the product you want at one? Simply head to the other. Then lug your bags back to your hotel and either drown your sorrows or celebrate your victory with a glass of bubbles. The people watching in the boutiques and along the street is as fun as the fashion. Young and old of all shapes and sizes flock here to window shop or purchase highly coveted handbags, ready to wear, shoes and jewelry. Watching them is a hoot. For those of us who love these names, the street is ohmywonderful. Along your walk are several lovely old churches that are worth a visit. The art is beautiful and you may luck into mass or a recital. Also to be found are little cafes and sweet shops — among them is Laduree just off the street by the St. Madeleine church.
