- rfedericLa Plata, Argentina1,054 contributionsMore than a shopping centerYears go by and it maintains its structure with high quality in all its sectors. Beyond clothing for the whole family, its gourmet sector must be highlighted. A delight, seeing the best products from different parts of the world. A festival of flavors at your fingertips. Also to highlight the viewpoint on its terrace that allows you to take photos of different sectors of the city. And to complete the wonderful dome that accompanies the building A walk that cannot be missed when visiting ParisVisited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 11 February 2024
- UbuntuProvince of Badajoz, Spain6,078 contributionsIconic building of ParisOne of the emblematic buildings of Paris and without a doubt, an essential visit. Building from the late 19th century, with an imposing art deco style stained glass dome. On one of the floors you have free access to a glass platform to see the imposing dome up close. You may have to wait a bit in line. If you have vertigo, you can calmly observe it on the side. And then you go to the top floor and visit the terrace, and you will get a good panoramic view of Paris and especially of the Eiffel Tower, on this terrace, model shows are held.Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten 11 February 2024
- razza61Gatton, Australia436 contributionsStunning building inside. We visited just before Christmas to see the Christmas display. It was extremely busy but well worth seeing. Security manned the escalators, so even though there was a bit of a wait it all ran smoothly and the crowd thinned the further up you went. The building itself is absolutely stunning with the dome ceiling, but add the spectactular Christmas centrepiece & decorations it was well worth the visit, especially if you are a shopper.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 15 February 2024
- medlahlouChartrettes, France7 contributionsA High Level ExperienceMy wife and I had a superior experience at the Galerie Lafayette pastry workshop (3 hours)! Not only was the pie incredibly delicious, but chef Gérard was also very friendly and full of good advice. Her passion for cooking was evident in every gesture and explanation, which made the experience all the more rewarding. We left this workshop not only with a delicious lemon tart, but also with valuable culinary knowledge. The friendly atmosphere of the workshop made the experience even more pleasant. I highly recommend this experience to all lovers of good pastry!Visited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 23 February 2024
- Salismile355 contributionsChic Glitter BeautyAnother architectural masterpiece of Paris. Even if you have no plans to shop, be sure to check it out here. A treat for the eyes. Unrealistically beautiful dome and stained glass windows. Geometry, lines, color scheme. Everything is complete delight. Enjoy wonderful coffee in the cafe overlooking the dome on the 3rd floor, if I remember correctly for 4.5 €. There is an area for photo sessions against the backdrop of all this luxury, a transparent platform that extends towards the center of the dome, but a place must be booked in advance on the website. And be sure to go up to the observation deck (on one side there are stairs, on the other there is an escalator). There you will discover Paris in all its glory. And at arm's length is the Opera Garnier. You can come back again and again!!!Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten 27 February 2024
- MauriceNewport Beach, California2 contributionsIs it worth all the hype?Beautiful building with very expensive items inside, all designer label goods. Like a mall but no walls. Saw the same goods in Costa Mesa, CA at the same prices. Need a $1000 pair of sunglasses that make you looik like Elton John? This is your place. I saw a lot of lookers but not so many shoppers.Visited January 2024Travelled with familyWritten 28 February 2024
- Joyman LPerth, Australia1,716 contributionsEven the windows look awesomeLocated just behind Palais Garnier, not only is it multi-storey but also multi-building, the Galeries Lafayette in Paris is a shopper's paradise. Depending on what you're looking for it might be located in the next building. Most tourists would visit for the extravagant decor and it was no different during our visit during Christmas time. We also visited the rooftop which was free.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 3 April 2024

- NoraatcSudbury, Massachusetts40,736 contributionsGorgeous but very crowdedIt is always nice to see the latest creations of famous fashion designers and Galeries Lafayette is a perfect place to do that.. I didn’t buy anything but did enjoy boundless fantasy, ingenuity and variety of the haute couture outfits on display. The crowds are overwhelming and it certainly didn’t add to my experience. There are several cafes, wine bars and coffee shops, but I can’t say anything about them because I didn’t eat or drink there. The view from the roof was beautiful and surprisingly the terrace wasn’t crowded, maybe because it was late in the evening. I also went to La Maison Le Gourmet to buy a couple of slices of my favorite cheese, Comté, a small Chez Meunier baguette, and yogurt. La Maison Le Gourmet is fabulous as always.Visited April 2024Travelled soloWritten 12 April 2024
- Anja K2 contributionsGreat and authentic experienceMy partner and I always enjoy fancy cooking classes, and therefore this experience was a perfect fit. The location is very suitable for the class, also it was nice that the group only consisted of 4 people which makes you enjoy it even more. Also our pastry chef was very polite and helpful, and we managed to bake very tasty and good looking tartes au citron. Can only recommend!Visited April 2024Written 24 April 2024

After seeing everything Paris is famous for, if you have a couple of hours left, it may be worth it. It is an excellent summa between the Rinascente in Milan and the Fondaco dei Tedeschi in Venice.
Do not miss the roof terrace from which you can enjoy an almost 360-degree panorama. Absolutely avoid the terrace bar where - after waiting in line - the reception is managed by an aspiring princess Sissi “de noantri” with an inconvenient and inadequate way of doing things; last but not least, a drink at 9 € and a spritz at 15 may be understandable given the location, but they certainly do not please.

This is a very high end department store so if you are into shopping, this is the place to be! Galeries Lafayette is a gorgeous building with an amazing dome. There is a glass walkway you can stand out on over the inner atrium. If you go to every floor and every department, it will take you several hours as this place is really huge. I see other reviewers talk about a fee but I don't know what that fee is. We just walked into the building and shopped and dined for a few hours. If you can, try to go to the outdoor terrace for sweeping views of Paris!
The baked goods were divine. We had lunch on the top level and as expected, it was pricey. Lots of people visit so if you don't like crowds, this isn't the place to be as it gets very crowded with pushy people.

Visited over Christmas 2023 and it was almost impossible to move around inside. Lots and lots of people. Lovely gallery. The stands and shops are mainly of important and international brands and the prices are high. Inside you can also find bars and restaurants. There is the possibility of accessing the glass walk, a bridge that allows you to take photos with the installations in the dome in the background but you must book in advance via the site. There is also a panoramic terrace with a beautiful view of the city . The Gallery is then divided into two other buildings: Galerie Lafayette Homme and Le Gourmet.

We booked the macaron making class at Galeries Lafayette's Haussmann store, thinking this would be a really special thing to do in the heart of Paris, towards the end of our time in France. We would have preferred a cooking class but had difficulty finding one that matched our itinerary. To call this experience a cooking class would be to call an alley cat a tiger. For 60 euros per person, we watched our host make macarons in a kitchenaid mixer, were invited to pipe 2 macaron biscuits each onto a tray, whisked the most minute amount of chocolate ganache in one bowl and some pistachio cream in another, filled four biscuits (that we didn't bake) and took them away in a showy box. To be fair, the biscuit box and bag were the best part of the deal, but certainly did not meet any notion of value for money. Now, I know, sure, I'm in Paris, you say, so things cost more. Of course. But in a baking class, you'd expect to mix some flour yourself, or put something in an oven. Nope! Not this one. And in defence of the venue, the host was actually really lovely and tried really hard to make the lesson engaging with her 8 guests, but still, this was a wholly underwhelming experience. And we were all done in under an hour! Could not possibly recommend this to anyone!

First time visiting as British citizen in Paris with my disabled mother who is unable to walk.
We decided to visit gallery Lafayette.
However, upon our visit we tried using the lift which was supervised by some colleagues of gallery Lafayette who didn’t want us to get inside the lift as whole family.
This person has racial remarks towards British citizens. I hope gallery Lafayette looks into this matter and take actions.
We just couldn’t understand why this person didn’t want us to stay together as family and use the lift. However he was allowing other people use the lift to go up, but prevented us from going in together leaving my brother outside hence we refused use the lift as split family, so we could stay together as we could easily get lost in Paris.
This is very disgusting behaviour who seemed like uneducated person who works in gallery Lafayette in boulevard.
We have taken civilised and polite approach to use the lift for my disabled mother and my family to stay together so we don’t let lost, however this was a problem for this individual that was guarding the lift as it was busy, we understand order is needed due to the que but what we don’t understand is why did he need ask us to go separately to the top floor.
This is a very poor practice via gallery Lafayette in Paris as tourist visit this place from all over the world and we don’t need to go through hard time especially with a disabled person in the family.
The lift clearly states disable person wheelchair sign to be used.

Would recommend not going there on a Saturday. Went on a Saturday and there was hardly any breathing room given all the people. Returned on a Monday and it was much more sane. Make sure you got to the 8th floor terrace to see the views of Paris. You can also pre-book online a 5 min session to walk out on a glass floor under the dome o the 3rd floor. Would also not recommend getting gelato up on the 8th floor terrace - you get ripped off with a tiny scoop for 5e.

The cupola is lovely but don't go to the basement cafe. We waited 20 mins to be seated and another fifteen minutes until my wife who is fluent in French, called loudly for service. Then the waiter was surly. Not recommended.

A fabulous department store, well worth visiting. Highlights were the stationery department and toy department. However every single floor was perfectly laid out full of gorgeous brands. Aside from the famous domed roof which is stunning, I would highly recommend visiting the seventh floor roof terrace for a stunning view over the Paris rooftops and the Eiffel Tower. As a free activity, this was a lovely way to spend half an hour. There are also deckchairs on the roof and almost a 360 degree view. A fantastic photo spot. Quiet too!

As one way to see Paris, we recommend the view from the rooftops of Galerie Lafayette, Osman.
Panoramic views of the Opera Garnier as well as the Eiffel Tower
Clear fence that doesn't disturb your view(?) There is also a place that has become, good for a commemorative photo
If there is a problem, it seems that the only way to get up to the roof is by stairs, which may be more difficult for wheelchair users

One Saturday in December, as soon as the special Christmas windows were installed, we rushed with the two girls to visit the LAFAYETTE GALLERIES.
We're not disappointed even if the myth of Santa Claus, we don't believe it anymore.
We enjoyed:
- a visit to the windows and the shop at an off-peak hour
-the store's surveillance system because the crowd attracts the ill-intentioned
-windows, it's always difficult to change every year! This year, with white glitter characters (adults, children, birds etc) it is well done and amateur photographers were not lacking
- the visit of the store, then, made in slow motion due to the crowd is interesting by the variety of products offered for sale, each stand offering its specialties
- the finish is dazzling; it's going up to the top floor (it takes time) and admire the electrified tree, below the magnificent dome.
A very nice walk , to program intelligently (little crowd).
Congratulations again to the decorating teams!!
