I'm besotted with their bread. I lived upstairs for two weeks and could not resist almost daily visits. Fortunately, I had to climb 36 steps to retrieve my goodies. Many restaurants in the 6th arrondissement highlight on their menus that they use Poilane bread, it's...More

Supposed to be the epitome of sourdough in Paris. Here they sell the loaf by slices or weight. Attitude of staff is as haughty as you expect. No time for you to linger in the shop to browse. Be sure of what you want and...More

I love this place, grab a baquette and a bottle of wine somewhere and some cheese and go to Luxenbourgh Gardens and just sit and enjoy the people and the Bread is out of this world.

Paris has no shortage of bakeries of all sorts, from plain breads to fine pastries but Poilane stands above them all (or at least at the top of a short list). Its breads are the perfect combination of chewy and crisp and one almost feels...More

local secret in Saint germain. Must try their bread and apply baked goods. The sales associates were very helpful in selecting what to get for gifts as well

I have stopped by Poilane at least once during most of my regular trips to Paris, hoping that I will eventually buy a bread, tart or some baked goodie that holds a wow factor. That hasn't happened yet. Everything I've tried is certainly OK but...More

This place had rave reviews and was billed as one of the best bakeries in a place known for bakeries. Several desserts had fruit flies buzzing around them, which possibly coloured my view of the place. The coffee was ok but considering the reviews, it...More

Perfect Apple Tart, flaky and yummy even on the next day. Plain croissant is also good, although I had better ones from small boulangerie around 1st Arrondissement. Overall, this is a known bakery and decent place...we’ll be back!

Of course their bread is wonderful, but their punitions (butter cookies) show just how thoughtful they are of their customers: they come in a range from dark to light depending on how long they've been baked. Like them dark and well baked? Voila ! Like...More

Came here thanks to TA’s reviews. Had a coffee and a sourdough with chocolate. As I was alone, this was too much! Should have ordered something else. The waiter was actually rather brash and I didn’t feel welcome. When I went to the bakery I...More

Yes, all fresh bread is still there at the afternoon. The only things that are hard to buy in late afternoon are croissants and other sweet pastries.
