It has everything that one can want under one floor including homeware, books, clothes, gifts and perfume. - Thomas VOakland, California17,546 contributionsClassic Department StoreIt's a great department store in the old fashioned style from the 19th Century. In modern times, it is a great place to buy stuff. I love the food market on the first floor for my groceries, plus some food gifts, and some exotic stuff. The store faces a beautiful square and green space.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 25 January 2024

We didn't realize it was going to be a very high-end store, so we basically walked thru, browsing at some items. The store areas are very nice, but we felt a bit awkward as all staff just stared at us as we walked along. Would have rated that average, but it is a lovely store. Reminded us of Holt Renfrew in Toronto, with all the high-end designer boutique shops in one large department store.Visited June 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 6 May 2024

Le Bon Marche Rive Gauche would be more of a curiosity than anything else to the casual tourist, as it was to us. It is an amazing store and the goods on sale are obviously high quality, but many would find some of the prices a bit out of reach. You would most probably find almost everything in other department stores, and may be at a little more reasonable prices. Worth a walk through to get over it!

I live near by Le Bon Marche and I go there shopping very often.
I have seen their service worsening step by step but today’s experience was overwhelming. The most rude condescending saleswoman at the Vanessa Bruno, rolling her eyes because I didn’t know EXACTLY the very precise model I wanted to buy.I decided to leave and there she had an epiphany and started showing me the TWO different types of the gray big cabas Vanessa Bruno. She even called the head of the département to defend her.
Horrible place horrible person.

This is a wonderful department store, almost two stores in fact as La Grande Epicerie, which sells food, is right across the road. The food selection at La Grande Epicerie is fantastic, with fresh produce, meat, baked goods, and a large range of dry and canned goods. If you like food shopping as I do, you can easily spend quite a bit of time wandering around the aisles.
Le Bon Marche is a large department store with all the goods you’d expect, but what impressed me the most was the fashion. It was early winter when I visited and if my suitcase and luggage allowance had been big enough, I could have bought a whole new winter wardrobe. I was particularly enamoured with the range of coats. I will definitely be returning.

I went to Le Bon Marche based on their reputation and my particular retail needs that day. I went to a particular designer but had to wait for their representative for about 15 minutes because she was in a meeting. When I met her, I requested a fitting for a particular garment. She acted as if she had no idea what a fitting was; told me to pick out what I liked; showed me to a dressing room and I never saw her again. I waited for several minutes in the dressing room to see if she’d return to assist me - she did not. I left the fitting rooms and returned to her counter and waited a few minutes more. She’d vanished. She was absolutely worthless so I took the few hundred euros I’d allotted for this shopping trip and went elsewhere. I’ll never go back to that store again.

This mall could be reached by the green metro line at the stop Severs Babylon. Its a fancy department store like the ones at Haussmann bit smaller but much less crowded giving the genuine shoppers the opportunity to buy in a more relaxed environment with better attention from salespersons. Overall recommended

We have been coming to Paris for years and we always spend as much time as we can here. Such a fabulous department store and the oldest in the world. Fortunately it was raining on our last visit to Paris which meant it was the perfect excuse to spend a lot of time here. It is particularly fabulous at Christmas time. We live every section. The clothes, the shoes, the kitchen and appliances, the book section, the food section and everything in between. Full of beautiful and interesting areas. The staff are so attentive. Spend ages in each section and explore. Highly recommended.

... under one roof, nicely declined over several floors, all connected with rolling staircases. You find here the top-notch selection of French and international brands in prêt-à-porter ... LV, Céline, Chloé but also books, a gift selection (especially before St Nicolas and Christmas, starting begin November!)

If I purchase cosmetics at the Dior or Chanel stand, will they come in the brand shopping bag? Or will it come in the department store bag like “Macys” on it?
Otherwise I will go buy at Rue Cambon

Bonjour,
