About
Luxembourg Gardens is a charming oasis in the heart of Paris, loved by both locals and travelers alike. With 55 acres of manicured gardens, it's the perfect place to unwind and soak up the Parisian atmosphere. You can admire the beautifully arranged flower beds, towering trees, and the grand Luxembourg Palace which overlooks the gardens. In the summer, the park is great for picnics and family outings. Be sure to check out the pétanque (lawn bowling) and chess areas, too. To learn more about the park's rich history, consider joining a walking tour of the gardens. – Tripadvisor

    My happy place!
Beautiful gardens with chairs available to read, sunbathe, people watch. So much going on. Joggers, Tai chi, chess, tennis, basketball, pony rides and little sail boats for the kids, plus restaurants. Fountains and sculptures are amazing. I returned there many times during our stay.

    Parisian life
You get a glimpse into the life of the Parisian intellectual and well to do crowd. Gorgeous gardens, surrounded by several great neighborhoods (St Michel, Pantheon, St Germain etc.). Come relatively early, bring a book, get a chair, relax and look at people. If you have kids you can rent toy boats to play with on the "bassin". The playground is the most sophisticated I've ever seen. They charge a small fee.

Enjoy your walk through this lovely garden
After a few visits to Paris we finally made it to the Luxembourg Garden. It has something for everyone. To be sure there are trees and gardens galore but it also has sporting possibilities, statues, a pond for rented mini boats for kids, and a palace which is next to the garden. We walked and also sat and watched others enjoying the garden.

    Best free activity in Paris
Arguably the best free activity in all of Paris. Beautiful garden - you are allowed to sit / picnic on the grass. Splendid decor and so many chairs everywhere to sit on and watch time passing by. A must do when visiting Paris if you want to take a break.

    Lovely public park
Lovely public park. We visited on a Saturday morning and there were lots of activities going on locally. There was yoga class, Tai chi, strength training exercises and ball games. Beautiful place for local and tourists alike.

One of the magnificent gardens of Paris
Luxembourg Garden is a magnificent park with rich vegetation, paths and statues of queens. There is the French Senate. Also here we can admire a beautiful lake, where children and adults bring their toy boats for competitions. In a corner, near the Senate building, is the monumental Medici Fountain. A little further are the greenhouses of the Senate, and the Orangery. Of course, I warmly recommend a visit here.

    Muse in the Garden
In early July, at the end of a busy day of enjoying the city, I walked into the Garden to relax. I was surprised to hear a singer on the stage. She was wonderful and I stayed till her performance was over. I don't know her name but she was tall with blonde hair closely cropped. She captured the spirit of Paris and on some songs, I could close my eyes and listen to her channeling Edith Piaf. What a treasure!

    Charming Luxembourg Garden
I fell in love with this place in Paris. The garden is full of life, but the atmosphere is very relaxing. Many people are resting on green chairs near the fountain, small children are playing, athletes are running. It was nice to stop by for an hour and take a break from the city streets.

    Beautiful gardens
We found that these were the best gardens we visited in Paris. There was great atmosphere and there were lots of chairs about. There's also the ability to buy ice cream and drinks. Would definitely recommend to anybody needing somewhere to relax.

So relaxing! Came with our friends who insisted it would be fun and it was! So pretty and free and a lovely stroll. We stayed nearby. Many great statues, a classic fountain and a cool Paris 2024 sign to boot.

PROS
* Nice and clean and famous historical city park
* It has the palace and the fountains
* Many places for relaxation and places for sport and games

CONS
* It can be crowded because it is very popular and it is in a busy congested part of the city

"I VISITED THIS PLACE"...
... as part of my quest to visit and review everywhere of any renown in this city. I walked here from the Pantheon- a straight path down the street. I enjoyed my brief walk through the park and rested and sat at the water area in front of the palace, which I did not approach (see my numerous "helpful" 👍 photos 📷).

WAS IT WORTH THE COST?
It is free to enter and use the park

WOULD "I VISIT THIS PLACE" AGAIN?
Sure- if and when I am in the area

ADVICE
* Nice place to visit and enjoy if/when you are in the area.

A quick visit to 17th century Luxembourg Gardens. There is plenty of seating in various locations. The standout was the Medici Fountain. Truly stunning with the shaped trees and sculptures. There is large expanses of gardens with sculptures scattered around the gardens. On a sunny day, bring a hat and water.

Very nice large garden where you can see locals relaxing specially in the evening. The ambience is great. There are many chairs to sit and relax, which is quite rare in most of the parks. It was very close to our hotel, and the whole neighbourhood was very peaceful, which was an added advantage.

It was a nice place to take a break even in a light rain. It’s absolutely gorgeous. It’s nice to walk around and see all of the greenery in an urban environment. There are public toilets which is always a plus in Paris.
