Almost made the mistake of staying in this neighborhood on first trip to Paris. Went to check it out to see if I had erred in making the change to Le Marais. No indeed. Very contrived, touristy and looks as if an unskilled set designer had done the work. Several blocks from closest metro stop. Unimpressed. I saw many more... More

Although a little difficult to find, Rue Cler is located relatively close to the Eiffel Tower. The street is recommended by Rick Steves and others on TripAdvisor as a stroll in a thriving traditional Paris neighborhood that introduces and offers insights into the local culture. Although only two or three blocks in length, Rue Cler contains a little bit of... More

I consider staying in the Rue Cler neighborhood the perfect location in Paris. It is near a metro stop and there are tons of great eating establishments nearby. One of our favorites was a stop at a crepe place right on Rue Cler. We also really enjoyed a souvenir shop and all the outdoor markets.

We came down this street after a visit to the Army Museum and granted we were tired, but I did not see want all the fuss was for this street. It was street lined with small businesses where you could sit, or shop.

it is a nice place to come after you see the Eiffel Tower a sit is like in a walking distance. The street is full of small grocery shops, fromageries, restaurants, bistros. There are many tourists, but definitely more - local people what is always a good sign. More to feel the atmosphere, than sightseeing.

If you are in the area and would like to buy food, then I highly recommend spending 20 minutes or so wandering along Rue Cler. But I really wouldn’t call this a Tourist Attraction and it’s not worth doing a detour to come here.

It's more of a charming place than a functional one. Very cute and suitable if you're looking for some charming souvenirs, without spending so much too.

Being that our apartment was only a few blocks away, we visited Rue Cler quite a few times! It became our favroite street to wander around looking for various food related items. The Fromagerie has endless selections and they are very knowledgeable regarding the options. Davoli has a truly incredible selection of meats (fresh and cured) and even ready-made food.... More
