we made a special trip to rue cler and were disappointed. The street is mostly food and flower shops. Not much we could take back home after our visit.

Street with bakeries, wine, fromage, meat shope. Great for selecting and then having a picnic in the park by the Eiffel tower.

Our favorite hotel, Grand Hotel Leveque is on this street (rue). People only street with markets, restaurants, cheese and almost anything french. Great area to visit and stay near the Eiffel Tower.

Rue Cler has a similar feel to other street markets I've been to in Europe. Fresh produce, flowers, restaurants. It's not very long and takes just a short time to walk through but it's nice to get away from the tourist hubbub.

We enjoy walking on Rue Cler, and have always enjoyed lunch here. First time was baguette sandwhich, soda and pastry menu lunch at Ronde des Pains. This time was Cafe du Marche (more expensive and longer time for lunch). There are great markets here also...More

Can probably count on most places on Rue Cler opening by 9:00am, most close around 6:00pm. A few stores close mid day for an hour or so. Most bistros open all day. Most everything, except bistros, close about 6:00pm.

We stayed in an apartment in Saint Germain (which is a great area to stay in) so I don't know anything about the apartments you are asking about. Rue Cler is in the 7th Arrondissement / Eiffel Tower.
