Nice ponds with islands

We walked around the pond and over the two islands, and that was a very nice walk. Do not miss the grotto on one of the islands. Nice buddhist temple there too

We were staying in the 12th arrondissement in Paris in September 2013. It was just a decent, but not to long to the Bois (woods). We decided to walk there one morning. It was a little cool and overcast, but we were fine. Lovely areas with ponds, flowers. Lots of lily pads in the water just like in Monet's waterliliy... More

One cannot believe but all this green is still in Paris. Certainly not central , but still well deserved with a subway station "Château De Vincennes". We can find lakes, birds, horses and a lot of peaceful places. Love

We visited the Bois de Vincennes by accident really as we were trying to find the start of the Promenade Plantee to walk back into central Paris. The park looked so nice we took a lovely walk and sat down people watching for a while also. The park is very busy as locals use it for jogging, walking their dogs... More

We visited after walking the Promenade Plantee so we only touched on this huge park. We explored the area around the lake. It was nice to sit after our walk and enjoy the peacocks.

I walked 11km in the Bois de Vincennes today and besides the lovely scenery I was intrigued by the ability to be amongst people (families; walkers; horse riders; runners) or to find solitude along long quiet pathways or secluded tree shaded spots. A perfect suburban scenic solitude or socializing spot!

Back in the day this place was where hookers were found in abundance, not today... This is the big green lung of Paris and has miles of walkways and places to explore. On weekends families throng here and parking is hard. During the week not so busy, and on a sunny day a great place for a stroll.

This park is just wonderful! Just relax and chill when the weather is hot! You should definitely try the Parc Floral, the lakes as well as the surrounding zoo and castle ;)
