Mont Saint Michel was definitely worth the four hour drive in a cramped 8 person vehicle. It was a very windy and cloudy day which made the island more imposing. We pretty much had the entire place to ourselves because it's low tourist season in November so it made the experience more enjoyable. You can get lost on the winding... More

Fantastic! My visit to Mont Saint-Michel included an epic moment where I sat on a medieval wall eating macaroons watching birds play in the updrafts as I looked up at the Abbey. I think this is a perfect day for anyone. But, honestly, if you have a child that wants to dress up and play princess or prince or knight,... More

This UNESCO site has been on my bucket list for decades. I was going to take a simple day trip using the German based Flixbus but found a bla bla car going in the same direction from Paris. It proved somewhat difficult to get to and I did not want to take a large overpriced tour bus. Depending upon the... More

The bottom level can be overrun with tourists. The tour at the top is definitely worth your time. You have to see Mont St. Michel if you're in the area.

Such a pity. Mont St Michel is so beautiful, from half a kilometre away. Its magnicent medieval bones are now plastered with shop after shop selling sandwiches or assorted landfill to the armies of daytrippers. Go there, walk the causeway, and then go away briskly.

Mont Saint Michel is a wonder. Sitting atop the mountain overlooking the channel. We climbed the thousand steps to get to the abbey. It is a steady climb through very narrow streets crowded with people and we were not there during high tourist time. Not for the handicapped or people or people in wheelchairs. No elevators.

2015 we visited Normandy and had a tour of the area. It brought tears to my ears to see the conditions what the soldiers had to go through to change our lives. The American Memorial was awesome. 2016 we visited Mont Saint-Michel. Awesome and a place you must visit.

The mysterious castle in the far far away from Paris. You have to take TGV train to Rennes about 3 hrs., then take a bus around 45 mins to there. Walking to the castle is the best way. You can see the castle in many miles with very good surroundings (field, flower bloom gardens). But. I do recommended to catch... More

This was a long day trip from Paris, the mini bus seating was cramped, not very comfortable for a 9 hr drive. But the end result was worth it. This is an amazing achievement in construction. A good guide. Time to walk around , lunch if you need, and an interesting tour of the abbey.lots of steps and lovely views. A... More

Mont St Michel was one of my favorite things we did on our 2 week tour in France. We arrived by car around 6pm. Based on Travel books we looked for the P3 parking lot which was tricky to find so we finally had to ask the parking lot attendant who was very friendly and helpful. Took the shuttle to... More
