This is an impressive structure on the banks of the River Seine used by the lower house as its Parliament. The French certainly know how to construct a building that has a large "wow" factor and this is one of them.

Great location on the banks of the Seine, easily reachable by bicycle by following the Quai d'Orsay from the Eiffel tower.

My student group visited the French National Assembly, which is the lower house of Parliament. We had a live guided tour supplemented by an audio tour which was in English. A short film in English preceded the tour. The building had lovely gardens like Versailles, but smaller. We were able to go into the actual Assembly hall and watch them... More

The National Assembly building, also called the Palais Bourbon, is situated on the left bank of the Seine, facing the Place de la Concorde. This impressive palace was originally built as a residence for the Duchess of Bourbon. Today, this significant building serves as the seat of the French Parliament. The front facade, with its magnificent Neoclassical portico, reminds of... More

Located on the left bank across the Pont de la Concorde, is this majestic building. Formerly the Palais Bourbon built in 1728, as a result of the revolution, the then owners were ousted by the republicans, becoming the home of the French Assemblée Nationale. During our long walks of paris it was wonderful to see and visit these grand old... More

The historical value of the building far surpasses its structural value. It is a witness of the great events of the revolution with all its iconic names: Danton, Robespierre, etc. and along with the factions Girondains and Montagnards. Its visit is a must for history nuts.

This building is of great interest to people such as me, who are students of French history and modern history in general. During our most recent visit to Paris, we had the opportunity to take a close look at the building from the main road which runs in front of it, the Quai d’ Orsay. The building is constructed in... Nice neoclassical Parliament building. From Paris we could expect a even nicer one, but still it's interesting and very important for its history!

Located in between the Plaza La Concorde and the Musee D' Orsay this building reminds me of a smaller Lincoln Memorial. It has good details, located right on a busy street and closeby several attractions.
