Museum or Retail Showroom?

The store was larger than the museum exhibit. This is not a museum but a way to display merchandise and should be free to the public.

Lovely lovely place but a very small exhibit, especially when being charged 10 euros. You really need to be into fine glass making to appreciate this because the majority of pieces are table items, decorative items etc. The very large pieces are far and few between with the only notable chandelier ( besides those in the residence , and it... I have to admit that I was vaguely familar with Baccart, don't judge me..But I was wowed by all the elegance. It was a mix of old and new and I found the collections that were presented really interesting. I also had lunch at the restaurant which was equally great. I don't know what folks expectations are but I thought... More

This museum is in a beautiful building across from the park in the Square des Etats-Unis. A portion is a "museum" with beautiful, historic pieces of their glasswork. Part has their current merchandise for sale. I don't want to quibble over definitions, because this is a nice, small change of pace if you have the time.

A wonderful museum to visit on the first floor of a lovely 'hotel', above the entrance containing an enormous chandelier in a fish tank and the shop selling the wonderful products produced by Baccarat. In the museum is a very informative film in English, shown in a rococo room next door to a Phillipe Stark designed room. The cabinets contain... More

This is "Baccarat Galerie-Musée". One single word - "Baccarat" - already says all about it. A museum intended for those that are completely fond of fine glass, crystal and art. Located at a fantastic "hôtel particulier", totally renovated by legendary designer Philippe Starck, the "Baccarat Galerie-Musée" is certainly a must see in Paris. Visit the gallery, stop at the gift... More

The museum is a must see. Crystal made for Kings/Queens/Heads of State over 250 years. Lunch at the Crystal Room in the museum is tasty but pricey. Excellent Service. Res a must. Great display of crystal for purchase in gift display area. They will ship as well. $$$$.

A small place, in a wonderful building, I loved the place and the glass and the fact that all rooms are very different. The chandeliers were surprising in impressive. A pity that the guide had almost no voice and as we were a large group, it was almost impossible to hear what she said, I would have loved to understand... More

A rather cold reception met us, but as we are enthusiastic admirers and collectors of fine glass and crystal we entered. After viewing two small rooms of glass we were told that we could not enter a larger room as there was a photo shoot! Nobody told us this when we willingly bought the tickets. After wasting 30 minutes our... More

This is more like a showroom than a museum. Beautiful table settings and a small display of crystal glassware. But the restaurant is most likely the highlight of this place. Go dine in it!

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the neighbourhood of grand and impressive Haussmann-designed apartments and buildings. National museums overlook the Eiffel Tower and embassies fill the avenues and streets. Locals head to the butcher, florist, or bakery on their daily rounds amidst luxury and splendour, all with a view over Paris and its most famous tower. Snuggled in between the grand buildings are small art galleries and homes of historical significance. With a rich legacy from 19th century politics, art, and architecture, you can’t help but be reminded of the belle époque, the Universal Exhibitions and the nobility that have frequented and shaped these streets.
