Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited to view the Exhibition of Otto Wagner. Master of Viennese Art Nouveau which was very interesting.

We then stayed to view the Gothic Architecture which was extensive. We then viewed the upper floors which had exhibits of more modern buildings.
The view of the Eiffel Tower from the ground floor is also very good.

Neo-classical buildings with rows of tall columns on both wings. Was built for the 1937 World's Fair. It now houses the National Dance Theatre and several museums. Its grounds were under renovation during my visit. Chaillot is also a great place to view the Eiffel Tower without obstructions.

A grand and expansive building up on the Chaillot hill that was created for an international expo. Now it houses a couple of interesting museums and one restaurant with perfect views of the Eiffel Tower. This is a place where you want to take photos.

This is a big building from one of the major expositions. It now houses a couple of museums, which are good, and a fancy restaurant with terrific views of the Tower. Good view of the Palais from the Parc du Champ Mars.

It was built for the Universal Exposition of 1937. It houses three large museums inside. It is located in the Plaza del Trocadero. This entire area is a must-see in Paris, since you have incredible views of the Eiffel Tower and its surroundings.

This is a famous spot from which you can get a panoramic view of the Eiffel Tower.
I went there to see the champagne flash that takes place every hour on the hour.
The view of the Eiffel Tower across the Seine from the elevated terrace is one of the most iconic views of Paris, and it's a spectacular sight.

I'm down rating this rating deliberately to make a serious point which perhaps others may endorse. Of course the Palais itself dating from 1937 is externally striking, although most people come for the incomparable view from the terrace across to the Eiffel Tower. What ruins the whole experience is the swarms of pedlars that are allowed to overrun the place, constantly and quite pushily pestering you to buy their mass produced souvenirs. Why don't the authorities do something? Are these people trading legally? Are they even legally in France? Does Paris as a municipality care about this negative experience that we tourists have to endure? Tourism is a massive contributor to the city's legitimate economy isn't it?

PROS
* The best location at the Trocadero Plaza opposite the best view of the Eiffel Tower
* Impressive curved symmetric buildings
* Housing, some of the less famous and less popular museums in Paris, such as the marine and the ethnology

CONS
* it is located at frantic and frenetic Trocadero Plaza, where there are tourists all day and all night, as well as hawkers and stalkers

“ I VISITED THIS PLACE”…
… from the outside when I was at Trocadero several times

WAS IT WORTH THE COST?
It was free

WOULD “I VISIT THIS PLACE” AGAIN?
Sure – when I visit Trocadero again, and maybe I would go inside

ADVICE
At least look at and notice these buildings when you are there at Trocadero to admire the Eiffel Tower

As I mentioned in a review of the Eiffel Tower, it is better enjoyed about two hours before sunset with a fantastic dinner picnic in the grass next to the immense fountain at le Palais de Chaillot.

Before you go, get yourself a bottle of wine (don't forget a wine key), stop at a bakery for a small baguette and a couple of thick slices of quiche (plus dessert), stop at the market for some small dry sausages, brie, olives, plastic wine glasses, napkins, plastic forks & knives and get yourself a nice canvas bag to tote it all in. Don't forget water & a blanket...

All of this cost us maybe 20 Euro.

Upon dusk, the Eiffel will light up and by that time, you should have finished your wine and it is time to enjoy the sparkle in the Eiffel. Have champagne as well?

At around 10:30pm near the steps up Palais de Chaillot, we encountered a group of ballroom dancers and some excellent music. This place is wonderful.

Enjoy the evening around the area but beware of pickpockets. Personally we were fine but just be aware of your surroundings (just as in any big city).

An escape to air conditioning resulted in a very interesting visit here since the Architects Furniture Exhibit was happening at the time (29 May - 30 Sept). The museum did an outstanding job of exhibiting and explaining the pieces displayed.
