This is a great part of the City. Lots of history and interesting sites to see and people to watch too (both tourists and locals). Now it has lots of great shops, restaurants, and old small windy medieval lanes. Way back when, this area was...More

Lovely area of Paris and away from the maddening crowds of the big tourist sites. Take time to walk the historic streets; have lunch at an authentic cafe; window browse or shop the eclectic stores.

I'd always heard how fabulous the Marais was so I was eager to experience it for myself. Frankly, I found it a little underwhelming. It seemed like a rather uninteresting neighborhood with average attractions and food. Sorry!

In this area there are so many restaurants, cafes and small shops. Crowded with tourists and locals but atmosphere is more relaxing. Great place to hang around
