I visited this place because it's just in front of my hotel. It was quite clear day so the view is not bad. It's not the best view of Paris but it is not bad at all. Views from Eiffel or Sacre Coeur is better as it's not too high so you can get more intimacy. The other issue is... More

This was our first stop before going to the hotel. It was a perfect day, which made it well worth the trip. Clear panels allow you a 360 view of Paris. When you are at other sites, you would have a hard time picking out the tower itself. But, all the other sites of Paris are right in front of... More

The day was sunny, but the smog in the distance marred the views. Although it was interesting to see the 360 degree view, it was not worth the 20 EU in my opinion. I tried to get information from one of the machines that provides a map and identifies the buildings in the particular view in different languages: it didn't... More

The tower is near the Montparnasse station, so easily accessible. Following the steps to the entrance, you can buy tickets, and following security there is an express lift to the 56th floor. On entry you are asked if you want a souvenir photo taken. On the 56th floor there is a café which serves drinks and snacks with a small... More

The Montpanasse tower really does have the best views of Paris partly because you can't see the tower itself! Looking across the city from the 56th floor is incredible and with the glass panels you really do get an uninterrupted 360 degree view.

The experience is something to remember, as the elevator takes you to the 56th floor in a matter of a few seconds. The view is absolutely breathtaking. However, there are extremely long queues even after having pre-purchased the tickets, which can be quite tiring.

Neighbourhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the centre of Paris this neighbourhood has something for every hour of the day.
