The Musée des Plans-reliefs houses a unique collection: historical models of fortified cities and surrounding countryside, made between the reign of Louis XIV and Napoleon III. A great discovery in the heart of Paris. The ticket entrance also includes access to Army museum, Napoleon's tomb and Order of Liberation museum.

This is being advertised as a separate museum at Blvd Invalides 6. It is not. You can only enter in front of the dome, and you will enter and pay for the complete Military Museum. You will also need to endure the extremely slow security...More

Since we had a museum pass, I wanted to visit this site as a lover of models and geography. The detail in each piece are amazing. If it is not going to cost you additional money go to the 4th floor then take the time...More

We passed through this museum while visiting the army museum. Situated on the top floor, it is set in semi darkness and has around twenty models of landscapes from France. Not very interesting for anyone who isn't from any of these areas.

If you are a history buff, this should be on your list of places to visit. There is a wide variety of displays, with a lot of it centred on WWI and WWII. However, my favourite display is on the 4th floor - the Relief...More

This place will take you maybe 30 mins to visit but it was pretty cool. If you are looking to kill a little time and especially if you have the museum pass I would go here. They have vast maps with the building on them....More

As it's included in the ticket for the whole building, it's definitely worth spending some time and going to see these intricate and fascinating relief maps that were used for defensive artillery when accurate maps weren't available. The detail is amazing and a superb record...More

Located inside Hotel des Invalides on the top floor are miniature models of cities, fortresses, areas, etc. My 14 year old artist and I both loved it. If you like miniatures don't miss this tiny gem.

We loved this display of military models of fortified cities tucked away inside the Hôtel des Invalides. It's a little difficult to find – you may have to ask at the Musee de l'Armee information booth for directions. If you have a museum pass, it's...More

It's at the top floor of the Invalides building, under the roof, a bit hot atmosphere. Interesting to see how known cities were represented in view of a military attack. Not lots of people. Some explanations about the history of their creations completes the exposition.
