Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

From the outside this heavy green curious building resembles more to a sort of those undefined plastic design souvenirs on sale in some local chinese shops.
It's an issue of its probably not most ideal fit in the otherwise rather unastonished, sober neighbouring architectural sorroundings.
Once inside, there's a small gallery, nice, but what does make a positive difference is the rooftop terrace.
The views offered from there are simply great and besides, under spring & summer Paris misty sun you can take full practical advantage of your recently bought colourful sunglases: To see and Too be seen.
For those of you who, like me, enjoy bar terrasses but do not fancy that much noise and exquisite gases from car exhaust pipes, otherwise an all-inclusive offer of mayority of Paris cafes, Citedelamode rooftop should be one of your top destinations.
But attention, don't get completely carefree, for example, I warmly advice you to head straight to the bar at the OZ bar, otherwise you'll learn only after some lost time and probable change of your mood that this is a selfservice bar.
And since we're already at the bar, I add another hint. Their cocktails are nothing to be remembered about...but no worries, there are, of course, completely available many other usual safer bets.

If, like me, you are not usually a fan of clubbing because you feel like suffocating, this is perfect. You have a beautiful view on Paris by night, right next to the Seine, you can dance inside, outside, enjoy a drink (very expensive though) and the entrance is free. Definitely a spot I would recommend.

This is an excellent display space perfect for special expositions. I've been to a few, always on the subject of design and fashion. The site on the Seine is extraordinary and in the middle of a cool part of town.

On balance the Cité de la Mode a du Design, on the rejuvenated Quai Austerlitz, is probably worth giving a miss by most people.
It's a very early example of a concrete building that the French government, in what was arguably an act of unfocused folly, decided to overlay with a metal creepy, crawly caterpillar and acres of decking and present as a citadel to style and design. In fact, the structural steel, multipede is the best bit. Take a look from the Gare de Lyon side of the Seine (opposite) and leave it at that.
The 'Cité' itself seems to have something of an identity crisis. There are supposed to be eateries and shops but when we there at the height of the tourist season the board walks were as deserted as the decks of the Marie Celeste and the food and retail outlets likewise.
There was an exhibition of Wallace and Gromit 'stop frame models', but the panels that heralded it could just as well have been executed by a competent primary school teacher rather than design maestro.
There is an intriguing roof garden that gives a super view of the beautiful river and city but so do a dozen other more readily accessible venues in Paris.
The security staff, who don't have much to do, are charming, and helpful with the information the signage fails to give.

The building looked nice from outside, but I didn't really feel safe. Lots of dark dingy places with gangs of homeless people lurking around. A prostitute hanging around out side the design section and just found the place generally creepy.

Watch for a special expo that interests you as this is a very good display space along the Seine. Devoted to fashion design, an important local industry and art form.

If there is something that interests you, come here for a special expo as the display space if good and the staff are very helpful. But it is also a splendid building on the Seine, cool part of town.

This is a new exposition space right on the river, devoted to fashion. I went to a special expo on fashion photography. Very helpful staff. Interesting area.

The Cité de la Mode et du Design building is just beyond the Pont Charles de Gaulle. It will surely include cafés and shops, but the elements that should appeal most to visitors are the green external staircase, which is somewhat reminiscent of the Centre Pompidou, and the rooftop garden which will surely attract large crowds on sunny days.
