Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A very large church that dominates the pretty square where it is located. It was built to serve the community during the Haussmann era. Now I was alarmed to see a big advertisment broadcasted on the side of the church. I guess the Pope needs the revenue, maybe to pay for all of the law suits.

A huge church with a great architecture from the inside. We didn’t have the chance to check the outside as it is being maintained and cleaned.

This is a small church walking distance from Boulevard Haussmann and the big department stores (Printemps, Galleries Lafayette...) and easily accessible via public transport : St Lazare (SNCF), Auber (RER A), Trinité (Metro & Bus)...
The church is a building of the Second Empire period, built between 1861 and 1867. Paintings, ceramics and earthenware were not finished until the end of the century. The church was consecrated in 1913.
The original organ was constructed by Cavaillé-Coll in 1869. The bell tower is 63 metres high topped by a dome.
The church's facade served as the inspiration for the design of the Saint-Jean-Baptiste Church in Quebec City and the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament in Sacramento, California.
There is a small park on the side which is also worth a visit.
Currently some renovation/restoration work is in progress so some areas might not be accessible during the visit.

There are big renovations going on here, so the church was draped in a shroud. We were surprised that the covering had ads for cosmetic products on it. Does the Pope know? Does he need more revenue. Apparently.

The interior of this church could be beautiful, but someone had the "bright" idea to hang cloth all over the sanctuary itself. It absolutely detracts from what is probably a very nice church. There are, however, some interesting light fixtures to make a visit worthwhile - IF you are in the area anyway,

We have visited Paris many times and walked passed this church and visited it at least on one occasions however on our most recent visit in February 2019 the front of the church was completely covered Hopefully the work won't take too long and the front of the church will be restored to its former glory..

We were enjoying a long walk around the avenues of the major shopping area located nearby, when by chance we stumbled upon this striking small church with the cute little, fenced park situated immediately in front of it.
By the time that we arrived at this park, we were in dire need of a break and so we decided to take a seat on one of the benches within the park, for a rest. Whilst sitting there we were able to admire the classic architecture of the church and the splendid sculptures under the front portico.
Unfortunately the front of the church was fenced off, for some type of major renovation work. Consequently we were unable to venture inside, to take a look.
Anyway, we enjoyed our rest in the pleasant little park which was resplendent with nice garden beds and homeless people sleeping on the park benches.
Well worth a quick look if you happen to be in the area.

Visited this church on a Thursday evening, we were tired of drifting around in the rain and where better to go for a bit of a rest than a church?
This place was lovely. Reminded me of the old Catholic churches built back home in New Orleans. We were able to sit for a while and listen to a choir practice. We lit candles for loved ones, prayed and then drifted out.
As a tip, I will let you in on a little secret: Follow the crypt signs, go past the big room and there is a bathroom on the left. You may find that it is in the dark, but wow - it was a welcomed bit of relief after miles of walking.
